It's a good feeling to know that next year, we will have more talent than we can find time to get on the field.

I expect UT to be improved next season barring new, key injuries. But to win a division championship you have to have some meat up front. You do have at least 3 potential key stars on offense. But I'd be careful predicting an East Championship until you see what kind of O & D lines you're going to have. You HAVE to be able to run the ball in the SEC. This is obviously a pretty tough league.:banghead2:

What would they have said in 1988 if anyone had said we'd win 2 back to back sec championships after losing our first 6 games? I know our defense is getting alot better and next year we'll have more depth...I Know Florida sucks right now, and SC is hurting a bit...and Georgia looks good only cause it's not in the west.....

In any case I was not predicting....the question is what would be a success...those are my standards....Winning East, and/or beating Bama....wether we can or not next year is a different question...anything less then those two are not a success for me.

You are correct Sir. There is a big difference between, " what do you predict? " and "what do you consider a success?".
Success =9
I predict we win the east.

I'm curious what smokeyvol and beef88 (and a couple others I can't remember because its early) think would mean it was a successful year.

Your comment on Georgia is odd to me given the rest of your comments. UGA is obviously a better team than UT this season, and is a young team but has a very talented roster coming back for '12. Much higher rated than UT. UF and USC are the in similar situations. So what would indicate that UT should win the East next season rather than any of the other 3 programs mentioned? I know that is what you hope will happen. But do you think that experts will predict UT winning the SEC East in '12? Some of you are putting a lot of pressure on CDD way too early with your expectations.

A Dr. buddy of mine is a UGA grad. He tells me he has insider knowledge. He says CMR will be fired at the end of the season if he does not win out. His feeling is your coach is gone no matter what.

Do you feel this is the case? And if so do you see that making UGA better?

I don't have an exact number in mind but we need to be Tennessee again in 2012. We are not UK. We are not Vandy. If we don't start playing like the Big Orange next season, I'll be at the end of the rope with the current staff.

I've said over and over CDD will be here threw 2014 but if we do this next year all bets are off.

just don't see it. florida sc bama georgia will all get us again next year.

2012 will be a success if we finish 9-3 with a bowl win (10-3) WITH one of the four big SEC games being a win...either FL, UGA, Bama, or SC. One of those four.

Vandy may be a better then UT this season....if you think beating us handily is hallmark for yoru season you haven't been pay attention....

You won against Florida by 1 point....and how much did they lose to Bama by???

Georgia is good compared to the rest of the East. In the West I'm not sure it could even make third....I'll stand by that. Either LSU or Bama would Destroy Georgia and I doubt they could beat A&M. This is the worst run for the SEC East I can ever remember.

Again I don't predict we will win the SEC East for several years, and if we play musical coaching staffs again tack on another couple of years as we'll lose recruits.....

The thread was about what was a success, for me it is either winning the SEC East, or Beating Bama....

I mentioned 1988 just to say, though I do not prdict it, who would have thought we would go from that horrible 6 game losing streak to back to back SEC titles...stranger things have happened. Let's see what changed in 1988...hmmmmm let me think.....

hey wait a tick...wasn't that when Fulmer became O.C. I beleive it was!

If we stay healthy. The UF, UGA and USCJr game would'a had different outcomes inwhich would'a changed our whole season. IMO. I do believe we'll win more than 9 games this season..!
