2012 Tennessee Volunteer Football: Shockin' Y'all Campaign

When was the last time we had 20 starters returning with this kind of firepower on Offense??!?!? I'm sorry, but we've NEVER had 3 WRs like Hunter, Rogers, and Patterson---all playing in the same set. A healthy Neal, Lane, and Bourque/Watson will be big time contributors running the ball. It's called a prediction, and maybe I could act like you and wallow around and ***** and moan about how terrible we're going to be---but that's not going with what I think this team is going to do.

I see us getting 10 wins at a MINIMUM this year.

if you think those are the only great receivers to ever pass through tennessee, you havent been watching ut
football long enough.

Did you misread what I wrote? I said we've never had this much talent playing in the same set---meaning 3 WRs that were all this good on the field at the same time.

These guys all have the talent to be first rounders.

His record states he is. Does that mean he can't have a winning season? No. In fact, he should have a hell of an upcoming season given this offensive talent.

Actually if he wins 10 this year he will still have a career losing record so that=loser

Don't get mad its a joke

Then there were those who said we had to keep him to save this recruiting class we had a bunch of jucos coming etc now answer this honestly will this class finish in the top 25? Unless something drastic happens vandy will be ranked higher by most recruiting services

What 7 assistants left for lateral positions in one month?

Idk why DS and (not)allvol have to bash so hard in every post i see of theirs. I mean, damn, do you really think this "group of kids" is going to be the same team that played Kentucky? At some point this "group of kids" will turn into men. And that normally happens going into Jr year when the "kids" realize "holy sh*t I only have 2 years left to play football." These kids LOVE football. Next year, I think we really start seeing them laying it on the line for EACH OTHER.

I'm not agreeing with the 10 wins statement, but i think it could happen if we reach our full potential . I think 8 is reasonable, but that should be 9 after the bowl. This team WILL NOT be the same team that took the field against Kentucky. I don't why anyone in their right mind would really think that. The coaches, recruits, and players all believe in Dooley. It wasn't Dooley that ruined last years team chemistry it was the fact we had such a shi*ty senior class trying to lead the team. You CANNOT lead a team from the bench or being the worst player on the field. You just can't.

Can we all just relax until the season? EVERYBODY knows its Judgement Year for Dooley. Lets watch it all unfold.
Go Vols.

1990 Carl Pickens, Alvin Harper, Cory Fleming

1995 Joey Kent, Marcus Nash, Peerless Price

Not all first rounders, and Fleming didn't get going till a couple of years later, but we have had that much talent together at WR before. This only goes back to when I started watching Tennessee football.

This season is going to be one to remember, so you negavols better prepare for glory. If McCullers and Sentimore can make the immediate impact that I think they can---they will be the anchors of an amazing defense. Our defense is going to be stout, and I really like the position we're in right now.

Offense---we have so much potential it's not even funny. I'm very confident the offensive line will be ready to dominate considering all the experience they have, and having those big hogs going into their junior year. Our Running game is going to be completely different, and our passing game could be the best ever. The pieces are there for Shock and Awe. It's going to be awesome to see. Get ready.
Have to agree...that we will indeed shock a lot of SEC teams and Media folks early on, and by the time we play Bama, they will know that they have a real fight on their hands, facing perhaps the best QB and group of WR's they've ever seen.

We may seem a little silly saying these things now, but will be vindicated come October.

With Dallas Thomas probably slated to start at OT next fall, I can't help but wonder how awesome it would be to lend Tiny to Sunseri for the season. Let him get some work at both OT and DT this Spring, but that's way too much size and talent standing on the sideline when he could be crushing some Center or Gaurd right next to Big Mac!

How are you going to double-team either guy with a duo like that? Better yet, how do you have a running game when you have two maulers like that clogging up the middle? Those two would collapse the pocket in the QB's face with great regularity. People talk about Florida's D...chit, put Tiny next to Big Mac for 2012 (move him back to OT the following Spring), and see how you like us, now.

I like Tiny at fullback...And let him make a big hole.Back to the op,8 wins at best this year,Dooley is still yet to show us he can win more than six.And if they dont get some type of run game going Tyler will be knocked out again bye the 6 game..And we all seen that last year when that happened. The key is the run game.If we sit back and try to pass 80% of the time they will kill Brey.So if we have no run game we will only win 5 or 6..

An amazing defense.

Dominant O-Line on the ground and in pass pro.

BEST EVER pass game. (How long have you been watching UT football?)

It's funny to read this every off-season. Jesus. The best wins this current administration have are against Ole Miss, Vandy, and Cincy...and some of you have us winning the National Championship and being the best UT team of all time. Insanity runs deep during the off-season with the Dool-Aid drinkers.

The o-line is def wait and see. The passing game statistically could be the best ever.
There are a lot of ifs and buts though. Hope we have success in 2012, but if not I think most of the fans will be ready to move on.

Prey on brey

Weren't Joey kent, Marcus Nash, and Peerless Price on the same team(1996)? Having said that, I hope you are right and are on track to have a great season.

none of those guys did anything in the NFL. Peerless almost had a decent career.

i'm not talking about wins or losses. or strengths or weaknesses in areas of the team. or failing or succeeding in overcoming adversity.

i'm talking about tanking a game.

say what you want about florida and muschamp, but they didn't tank a game.

tennessee did

Florida looked like a WW1 tank in several games last year!

I agree that we need to get the ground game going, but I don't think it's necessary to try and run the ball 50% of the time. 70 pass and 30 run is plenty enough to keep defenses honest. Look at the NFL. Neither the Patriots or the Giants had much of a ground attack. The Saints and Packers were the 2 most prolific offenses and they were pass first types.

One of the most consistently dangerous offenses in College football was Spurrier's Fun'N'Gun Gators in the 90's. That is more like what this offense will be, in the fall...except Bray is a real NFL prospect of a QB. Plus, the WR's are bigger and more talented than what Danny Wuerfel had to throw to.

With who we have at head coach, this team will be doing well to get bowl eligible. I think we have the talent for 9 wins though. After last year, I have zero confidence this team can beat anyone worth a dam.

We will have better coaching this year but, the players will have to learn a new system. That does not always go well. Lets hope for the best. I think 13 will be our breakout year! Alabama did not do that well the first year they went to a 3-4 and multiple defense! vol4eva, I do not know if you are worth a dam or not but, It sounds like this team has you beat down. :)

wait, how can you be a Vol fan AND SC fan??? i see people askin, but whats the answer?? what cosmic bunny have we slid through where one person can root for both?

and i see us winning 8 minimum based on our talent and maybe a couple more (including a bowl) if the coaches come through on their end.

B.S. No you haven't. You haven't given a dime except for game tickets and t-shirts that say "I'm the biggest whiner". You are like the D-day soldier bragging about how he killed all those Germans. The only problem was he was back in Wichita, Kansas in the army base mail room.
I've put more money in to the Athletic Department than you did in your two degrees.

UT better be careful and do what you say or you will stop donating your annual $19.95 to the program.
We can agree to disagree on some points, but we'll find out soon enough what Dooley is made of.

When times are tough, and everyone knows it, just get to work...quit giving excuses, we're all aware.

He had better beat NC State and Florida out of the gate. If not, quit delaying the inevitable and go make an actual SEC hire.

I think our offense will be 1 of the best in the country if the running game is productive. It all comes down to that IMO.
