Just because we offered doesnt mean we will TAKE him....probably in this instance we will....but never confuse a commitment to signing a letter of intent...I'm sure CCM is still recruiting....

I think some of us may be misremembering the qualilty of recruits we got back in those days....We did good to get three star recruits...now there were a few higher rated...but not many....

I don't think anyone is questioning that but do you really think people is going to be beating down the doors of that kids house? He has plenty of time to turn heads.

Duke Crews was in that class too. He was supposedly a five star. LOL

We have quite possibly, the second dumbest fanbase in all of college sports (Vandy is first).

Martin knows what he is doing and we will be back in the NCAA sooner than most think

says the know it all who didn't make his t ball team to a man who was on a coaching staff in Memphis (with coach Haynes, Dodd, Otis Jackson and others) that sent a couple dozen players to D1 shools in 3 years, and watched several "highly rated" prospects not put in the work to make it while other, less athletic, basketball players took their spots.

Keep bringing the knowledge from an internet forum basis.

Your kidding, right? I'll give you Duke Crews but I don't think it's fair to say people don't need to be concerned with his recruiting. It's expected but still a concern. I think he's pulling the gun way to early on some of these kids and has time to show his self before grabbing all these diamonds in the rough.

Yep. His offensive system has always been bad. It looked a lot better when Lofton and JaJuan were drilling threes to bail us out and we were pushing the tempo. The abortion we saw last year was painful to watch.

No, I am not kidding. I didn't say people didn't need to be concerned. I said we have the second dumbest fanbase because a majority of the posts you might call concerning, I call ignorant complaining.

Let me clue you in: Martin knows exponentially more about recruiting for this team, in this conference and at this level than you do. Actually, it's more than exponentially

I agree but it strikes me as odd that you defend a ut coach that has never won a game more than you support or defend one that won a nc.

Have no concerns until after I see how this team plays this year.

What I like about Martin's philosophy is that he doesn't want one and done players. He is looking at this kid as someone that will be a good player his soph year and beyond. He isn't looking at this kid as a freshman coming in and scoring 20 per game.

Unless you get a group of one and done players, this is the better philosophy. Have a long term plan, see where this person fits in the plan and get him on board.

Anyway, will see how they do this year before I proclaim that the sky is falling.

Hmm I'm confused. Because I said what you already believe and agree with, this some how turned into you thinking that I believe I know more than Coach Martin? lol. No. I doubt I believe that and my bank account backs that up so I certainly don't need someone else forming an opinion to tell me the same thing. :thumbsup:

Like I said before, I'll hold judgement until I can see what he actually does. What sets he runs, how he rotates, etc... The only thing I can go off right now is he likes licking his lips a lot when he talks and his recruiting sucks.

I haven't learned anything about basketball. All I know is that I like to have fun and fun to me on this site is reading some of the nonsense and making sense of it. I don't plan on a career in coaching, handling or anything to do professionally with basketball. You're getting upset when i am agreeing with you. I haven't for once said I didn't want certain players. All I said is that I am being honest about stargazing. I like to see a bunch of stars. BUt, you know and I know it is a crap shoot and a gamble on any 17 year-old. I just like to follow it is all. IF you don't that your business. Me? I like to look at a list of commits and then to the right the number of stars. IF that makes me less of an athlete then so be it. I would, however, be willing to bet that I can run a 40-yard dash faster than any other 47-year-old on this site or anywhere. Just because I didn't play HS or college ball doesn't mean I can't play sports. I can also play basketball better than most at my age. The only reason I bring this up is that I don't care about yours or anybody else's credentials on this site. IF i wanted creditentials then i would consult Jimmy Hyams or Dave Hooker. But I do not. So leave it at that.
