2012 Schedule discussion

If we can beat UF and start 4-0 anything is possible next year. If we beat UF and start building confidence I could see our team really coming together and playing great.

Beat UF 10-2 or 9-3.
Lose to UF 7-5 at best.

that schedual is set up to make sure we make it to a bowl game, huge money loss if you dont make it to a bowl game, mike hamilton knew this

Pointless discussion at this point in time. Will Bray and Rogers be ready? Is Lane having foot surgery, how does Hunter look, do we get the big 3 juco DL's, does Wilcox get a HC job, is there a nuclear fallout? Just too many variables.

We will be better though, no doubt. Who knows what that will mean in terms of W's and L's though.

Pretty true, but what else are we going to do for the next 8 months? It is imagination station time for sure. The speculation is like half of the fun. It is especially half of the fun when your team hasn't been winning.

I'm gonna say absolutely everything works out perfectly for the Vols and we go 13-0, undefeated and unscored-upon. Yeah, I may be a *little* optimistic but it's winter and we just had a tough season. I'm going to dream big for a while, at least.

haha. Yea, I see what you mean there, but it seems to lead to quite a few arguments. :cray:

Heck, I don't wanna miss out in all the fun though:

9-3 1st-2nd in the East.

Can't predict the losses because I find it impossible to type the words " ____ will beat us" I'm a true homer at heart.

I don't expect more than 7 wins. A loss to NC State sets the tone, annual loss to Florida and the season turns into the same old same ole. Better luck with injuries keeps the bottom from falling out like this year. But 3 sure wins OOC... Not sure where 4 will come from in the SEC. Probably Kentucky and Vandy, maybe Miss St... Maybe Mizzou but I don't know. Shoot, we might go 6-6. Would love to see Dooley spring up and outcoach someone but I'm not counting on it.

I am really thinking we win 9 games next year.

NC St, Ga St, Akron, Missou, Troy Vandy, and UK should be wins with the talent and experience we have returning.

FL & @Miss St are toss ups leaning towards vol wins

@UGA and @USCe are toss ups leaning towards vol losses

and Bama should be a loss.

Is this official? Isn't it the same schedule that was leaked a month ago?

Regardless, we have a very real shot at being favored in 9 games, but we'll only be heavy favorites in four. How we do in those other five will determine Dooley's future. We need at least 4-1 unless we get an upset win or two.

I'll take some of that action! :)

Looking the score of the Cincy/NC State game and who Mississippi State is losing this year, I feel better about my prediction for those games.

That is a pretty weak schedule.

GA State and Akron??

I can't wait to see what Pop Warner teams that the turds come up with.. I am sure NONE of them will be out of the state of Florida and of those, none would beat a good high school team.

It's the kickoff game. And in any case, it's much better to have Thursday games on national tv instead of Saturday games on CSS.

I know but didn't they have the Thursday night opening game for about 4 straight years?

I always made fun of my Cock fan friends telling them that was where wanna-be's played...that wasn't very well played was it.

Every year since Spurrier has been there, minus 07 and 11. Someone on CT said we open up at Vandy next year, so that could be on Thursday night, too.

Remember when we used to have Notre Dame and our "easy ones" were the Fresno States, Marshalls and ECU's of the world back when they were giant killers? Now we pay $750K to get rid of a power house ACC team like UNC for Buffalo.

I see 7-8 wins and with tired optimism, hope we surprise a lot of people.
