2012 roster

if you are depending on freshmen, even redshirt, you don't have solid depth. solid depth is vast majority of the 44 are in 3 year unless you have a couple studs.. (Richardson, Clowney, Easley, players like that)

playing freshmen get you what we are getting this year and what Florida is getting. Losing Brantley hurt them but they are having to play too many underclassmen also.

26 of our 44 next year should be in their 3rd year or later. 10 better than this year...that is good progress.:good!:

we will need to work very hard to hold onto him and we need Sentmore as well. those two would GREATLY improve the defense. Add Autry and we might compete for east. Don't get them dudes, we struggle again next year. they are the most critical 3 recruits.

I thought we were out of it for Sentimore?

I'll agree with this. 9-3 may not really be a disappointment, but it wouldn't really be great, either.

After the last few years? I'll be as happy as a pig in shhhhh...you know what I mean- with a 9-3 record. Way too early to speculate though.

I think Tiny moves to Guard, dude's a mauler and would love to seem him pave some lanes for (no pun intended) Lane.

They wont move Tiny to guard. Hes too long and has the feet to be a great tackle. Right or left. I think he ends up on the right side though, until his technique allows him to move or to the left. JMHO

all depends on two factors

1. no injuries to bray, hunter, or rogers
2. land patterson and autry

and i really think we can win the sec and possibly compete for a national title..

Whoah there killer, let's slow the tokin'.

Not that it wouldn't be great, but seriously - let's take this thing as it comes and keep things focused.

Now, this thread is more to my liking. Waiting until 2013 for a competitive team chaps my cheeks. There is no reason not to expect a good team next year. It doesn't have to be NC caliber, but it should be much improved over this year's numbers.

Anybody thinking we were going to be competitive again by 2012 when we hired Dooley didn't/doesn't really have a full grasp of just how bad off we were.

In all due respect, three years is more than enough to show improvement and be competitive. I know how bad it was in 2009, but I also know that being competitive is not too much to ask.

Enough talent returning next season to win 8 maybe 9 games. If we can recruit a stud RB and some lock down Coreners, we could win 10 games and win the SEC East division next season. Really need a 5* RB (like a Lattimore or even Crowell) to keep from being one dimensional on offense. Without some great CB's, our pass defense will continue to be a weakness.

Don't we actually lose 4 starters? Poole, A. Johnson, M. Jackson and B. Martin. Not sure if Martin is still starting due to the injury a few weeks ago, but I would consider him as a starter. Still returning 18 starters, not too bad.

I think we'll be competitive but Alabama will still beat us they're on another level! Also if we lose bray, hunter, or Rogers we could be looking at another mediocre year! We just don't have talented enough depth to replace players of that calliber. Cuz freshmen does not equal quality depth. People expecting 9 or 10 wins might be disappointed cuz even 1 injury can be disastrous (like this year)! I think lane will be really good next year at RB he has the skills plus this is his first season after acl surgery and that takes a year or two to regain confidence
