2012 predicted order of finish in the east

Has everyone forgotten how we beat GA three yrs ago like rented mules. Last year we lost by 8, without starting QB and one of our best if not best WR. We had less talent then we do now and they have about the same. They still have Richt who has proven to not develop the talent he has. They were the best in the down -trodden east last year. I think this is one we have a good shot at winning. If we win I say we win the east.

Wwho are your playmakers on o this year?

After Lattimore, probably just Ace Sanders and Shaw. I say Shaw because, unlike Garcia, he appears to have a fully-functional brain. New players will have to step forward. Spurrier seems giddy about the arrival of Shaq Roland on campus. Assuming we don't lose our entire backfield again, we should have a nice corps of running backs.

It has to be worrisome to rely on Shaw as much as CSS does (in the run game). He's bound to miss a game or two if he takes too many hits. Who is his replacement if he goes down?

Valid point, but I don't believe that will be too much of an issue this year, IF we don't lose our entire backfield again. One reason SC relied on it so much was because we didn't have anything else. We were depleted.

To answer your question, though, I believe it would be Dylan Thompson. I know nothing about him.

I think you're right about ML coming back and taking some of the load off of Shaw. I also see CSS out smarting himself and going to the well too many times on that read option play.

1. Tennessee. The Vols should have the best offense in the SEC east next season. They have Bray at QB along with Rogers, Hunter and Patterson at WR and a whole O Line with alot of experience.. It will be UT or UGA to win the East.
2. UGA
3. SC
4. Mizzou
5. Florida
6. Vandy
7. Kentucky

It's my hope that our other runningbacks (Wilds, Carson, Miles, Davis, Salley) are as good as advertised/continue to improve and can help take some of the load off Lattimore and Shaw. However, Murphy's Law has a very unique way of finding it's way to Columbia.

Jeffery was pretty much a non-factor after Garcia went down. Shaw just didn't have the knack for finding him like Garcia did.

I like South Carolina's chances to win the East as much as UT's. As someone else said---UGA didn't impress me at all. They skated by us---20-12, and the only time they looked decent this season was against Auburn, and that's when UGA had their balls to the brimstone. UGA looked flat against Kentucky---and almost allowed Kentucky to beat them. On top of that---they lost to Michigan State in the bowl game. I expect it to be a very similar UGA team---Aaron Murray is the personification of the University of Georgia---all the talent in the world---finds a way to be horridly mediocre. Georgia loses to both my alma maters---Tennessee and South Carolina.

Call me a homer---but I think the SEC East #1 comes down to the late October battle in (the real) Columbia. I expect this to be a matchup of two top 10 teams. I think if Tennessee can stop the run---which we will---I see us winning this on the way to closing out a BCS bowl run for us.

1. Tennessee
2. South Carolina
3. Georgia
4. Missouri
5. Florida

UGA might be overrated, but they face nobody of note from the west.

As far as UT/USCe, it should be another good game come October. I hope we can get more pressure on Bray this time.

Thompson isn't an SEC QB from what he's shown thus far (limited game action, spring and fall practice). He can do some things in the zone read running the ball though. If Shaw were to go down, SC is pretty screwed although McEvoy is the guy to watch (also the most likely starter in 2 years when Shaw leaves).

But the hope is that with the way Shaw improved passing the ball over the course of the season and theoretically will keep improving, SC won't have to rely on him running it 15 times a game and will actually have a legit passing game. Who knows what to expect with WR. Shaw does spread the ball around though (even to a fault this past year), so wouldn't be surprised if Buster Anderson is the leading receiver. But Ace and KJ Brent will probably be the two main WRs if I had to guess. Jerell Adams is Jared Cook 2.0 physically, so if he picks things up quickly, SC could be really dangerous in 2 TE sets.

As far as the east, UGA is heavy favorite imo. Good offense, and nasty on defense with a ridiculously easy schedule. The key for SC will be to not drop any of the games that should be wins ie Auburn/Kentucky type games of the last 2 seasons. If that happens, could see SC win 2 out of LSU/Ark/UGA and win the east.

Not sure what to expect out of Tenn. In theory passing game should be ridiculous, but who knows on D and in the run game. At this point, I'd expect SC and UGA to both be better overall (especially with SC getting Tenn in Columbia). Florida is a wild card: just too ridiculously talented to have a 3rd down year you'd think, but also don't really have any returning playmakers on offense. D will win them some games by itself and they could win the east if the offense surprisingly is good.

TBH if we don't get the injury bug, i think its between us and Scar to finish 2nd in the east.. And that really depends on if UGA can keep their sh-t together on another weak schedule year..

TN will be a different team next season. Many people from around the country will be shocked at the Vols jump to the top of the East Division. We have been waiting a long time and it's finally here - 2012 has been the season realistic fans have known all along was the year TN will be back. The Florida game in September will be the start of the Welcome Back party for TN!

I hope I am wrong, but I think LSU is going to give us the business.

Is their colors orange or gold? This video is a perfect example as to why I am not really worried about mizzy in the SEC.

yep, frat boys clearly represent any campus's entire fans and student body...

black and gold though, according to wiki

Because of the black and gold similarities I bet Clay Travis will get confused when they play Vandy and try to hold Gary Pinkel's junk instead.
