2012 LB Nick Dawson

Charlotte (N.C.) O Berry linebacker Nick Dawson has Louisville and Clemson at the top of his list with Tennessee also in the mix. North Carolina and Miami are trying to move up the list. Dawson's father, who lives in Louisville, actually favors Tennessee according to Nick while Nick is torn between Clemson, where teammate Germone Hopper is committed, and Louisville where earlier playing time appears available.

LB Nick Dawson (6-3, 220) of Charlotte was planning to visit Clemson last week but never got it confirmed with the Tigers, so the visit didn't come off. He has had Clemson in his top five along with Louisville, Tennessee, UNC and Miami, but right now Dawson isn't sure he's a take for the Tigers. He recently visited Louisville, which is where his father lives, and is strong on the Cardinals but is not ready to name a favorite.
-UNC and Miami facing NCAA probe.
-Clemson may not take him.
-Louisville seems a legitimate threat, but come on its Louisville.
-His father has talked about liking the Vols the most and we need LB's.

Anyone got some good info on how hard we are recruiting Dawson? Looking for a few posters in particular to respond...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Fortenberry hasn't been shooting a high percentage lately.

He may be totally right about these cats though.

I honestly cannot fathom why you would go to Miami (aside from all the free money and prostitutes).

Based on them not liking UT or UT not recruiting them?

Tennessee wants Dawson. They always have. They are still recruiting him hard. I think they have a better chance than Fortenberry thinks on this one. He's right about Mitchell but Dawson they have a better shot than he thinks IMO. I dont think they are leading but I think they are going to be a factor with him before it's all said and done.

Louisville would make no sense. If Strong starts winning there he's gone soon after. He'll get way too good an offer to pass up.

“Louisville and Clemsonare my top schools right now. I am in the process of putting together a final list of schools,” he said.

Both of his top schools have impressed senior standout.

“I like everything about Louisville,” he said. “They have done a great job recruiting me, and I love Coach Strong. I have also been real impressed with their tradition and facilities.”

“At Clemson, I love the atmosphere. They have great fans and a great coaching staff. I have also developed a good relationship with my recruiting coach, Coach Pearman.”

Dawson will take all 5 official visits this fall and then make a decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on January 7.
