Ironically, he has Missouri State ranked over Tennessee this year. Seriously?

His ratings are really wonky this early though. He uses some of his own made up numbers to weight the teams this early.

For example, Miami (FL) is ranked 25 on his ratings. Reggie Johnson is hurt for the first part of the season, so Miami will struggle. These rankings can't take that into account.

Like pretty much any ratings system Ken Pom isn't too accurate until you're about halfway through the season or deeper. Still, an interesting look.

I honestly think we play better than we are predicted. 11th in the SEC is a joke. We will be closer to the mid way point and we will not lose to teams we are suppose to beat and will upset someone in December.

I'd say he's pretty dang close to what we'll be. I'm guessing we'll be a 13-15 win club at best.

So far, only beating Carson-Newman (practically a high school quality team) by 21, is not a very impressive debut for this bunch.

maybe I'm missing something but, this guy is predicting the vols record to be 13-16 overall. Using his game by game predictions I'm only counting 12 wins and 17 losses. One of us, (him or me) doesn't know squat.:ermm:

game by game percentages differ slightly from a calculation of season ending percentages. I think it has to do with the number of near 50% games that could go either way.

I suppose nobody outside of our own fanbase projected Tennessee to be as good as they were last year.

And I made myself a lot of money last year mainly using common sense lol....common sense tells me we aren't going 18-10, if I could bet that right now I'd LOVE TO.
