2012 College Baseball Thread

They are unbelievable. One reason is they never panic, they always believe they can win. They don't try to push too hard and do too much on every play. They play hard with low level of mistakes and keep the pressure up on the other team on every play.

That belief from USC makes the other team doubt itself and play too tight. This leads to mistakes puts the opponent in a bad position.

I have traveled a good bit to see them play (I live in SC) over the last few years and they have been this way the whole time.

I hope Roth throws a CG win in game 1 and hits a walk-off HR in game 2. He is a college baseball legend and that would be the perfect way to go out.

Koumas is starting game one. But yes, Roth is one of my favorite college baseball players and personalities I have ever followed. I wish him the best in this series and the future.

Arizona wins game 1. Not sure if SC has the hitting to compete with Arizona. Averaging just 3 runs per game and most of that came in game 1 vs Florida.

Minus the homerun, we did a good job of limiting their production yesterday. They got some hits, but they only got three runs after the homer. I bet today will be a different story.

You guys may very well shut them down tonight as I don't believe much in momentum from game to game in baseball but without the double plays last night Zona could have easily got to double digits.

I think it's over tonight but never the less this has been a run of a lifetime over the past three years.

I agree. Arizona looked like the superior team, no question about it. Regardless of what happens tonight, I'm proud as hell of this team.

Definitely better shot of limiting Arizona with Roth, Webb, and Price all available but can't win a game 0-0. At some point need to get some timely hits. Will likely have to beat Arizona's ace tonight too.

I think they're saving him for tomorrow, if necessary. Hyer is it?

Yea Hyer is the ace. Arizona hasn't announced a starter (that I've seen) but from what I've seen it's 50/50 whether he goes.

Arizona wins. Carolina just didn't have the hitting to compete. Great 3 year run though.

On the bright side, started 4 freshman for most of the year and had quite a few others contribute. Dantzler and Vergason are both coming back also so returning all but Marzilli, Matthews and Walker to the every day lineup. Losing Roth and Price but Webb and everyone else will be back as far as pitching.
