Scout.com: 2012 CFN ACC Preview

Team That'll Disappoint:
NC State – The Wolfpack is one of this year’s trendy sleeper picks in the ACC, but why? Sure, QB Mike Glennon and CB David Amerson are next-level players, but after the dynamic pair, the roster in Raleigh is somewhat mediocre. The Pack couldn’t run the ball a year ago, and won’t be able to stop it this fall. The front seven, especially at linebacker, has been gutted by injuries, leaving the defense vulnerable to opponents who won’t want to test a terrific secondary anyway. And what about Glennon’s supporting cast? The backs are average, and three of last year’s top four receivers are gone. State will be back in the bowl picture, but those expecting serious league contention are going to be disappointed.

Sounds fair and accurate but im sure they will win at least 7 games....of course not their first though! GO VOLS!

Cincinnati 2.0. A couple of really good players but other than them...not much. They may keep it close for a half but in the end, we should steamroll them.

Two keys to making this a lopsided win for UT is for us to run for 4 yds (or more) per carry, and to blitz Glennon, so he doesn't have a lot of time.

45-21 Vols. If we punch them in the face early it could get a lot worse then this. We have to be focused, disciplined and fly to the ball. Create havoc on defense and cause a few turn overs. Then let Bray,JH,DR and CP have a show out party. I think Lane will have a good day too.

I'd love to see us run the ball all over them more than throw it all over the place. I know we can throw.

Come on guys. If you don't put any stick in ESPN, Bleacher, Rival, and Scout sportswriter takes on our Vols why should you put any stock on their take on NCSU or anyone else for that matter?

I'm so eager to see our team in action, I'm doing crazy things. One is putting my PC to TV adapters and such in ziploc bags for easy finding for streamed games. And putting that bag inside the TV console while threatening my dear Shirley with dire fates if she includes them in her periodic moving stuff to a "more proper location." you just don't snarl at Shirley and expect to get away with it. But bless her, she's Vol contaminated so has no trouble with my enthusiasm. But mark my words, for 3 quarters NCSU is going to give our Vols all they can handle. Then like an earthquake, shift happens.

I think if UT goes into the game thinking its going to be a blow out we will struggle....if we score early and quick...NC State will keep pecking away at the score...and we will have to struggle thru the win....But if we come to play 4 quarters then it will be a blow out....but one thing I have learned is VEGAS knows best so get ready for a close game.

I don't know why but I am wary of this game...if it was in Neyland I would be convinced we would dominate.

Something about the neutral site (even though I know it will be Heavy Vol) makes me nervous about it.

Once we get an early two score lead this game will be over. NCst will be forced to play catch-up with a weak group of wr's and an oline that ranked 98th in sacks allowed last season. NCst also finished 109th in rushing. Our D will be able to pin their ears back and pressure Glennon into making mistakes. He'll be on his a$$ all night. Then we pound their weak dt's and pitiful lb's with our run game while mixing in dink and dunk passes to the te's and rb's. As soon as their safety's try to come up in the box for support it's gonna be six to either 11, 21, or 84. This game wont be close. Expect to hear a lot of Rocky Top early and often in the dome! V,B!!
