Missouri wins SEC East in their first conference season. Their only losses come to Bama and USCe, but USCe loses to UGA and LSU, and Mizzou wins three-way tiebreaker over UGA and the Chickens.

Bama goes unbeaten, wins SEC, plays Oregon for national title.

USCw beats Oregon in the regular season, but loses to Ducks in Pac-12 title game. Oregon has no other losses.

Boise State goes undefeated, wins Mountain West, ends up 5th in BCS.

Auburn repeats last season's losses (Clemson, LSU, Arkansas, UGA, and Bama). Most of the losses are more competitive, but Chizik's seat becomes warm two years removed from national championship.

Florida starts out 4-0, but loses next 5 games before limping into the barn at 6-6. Gators lose at Vanderbilt for the first time in God-only-knows. Muschamp is hanged in effigy.

Tennessee finishes 7-5. Dooley is fired. But all is not lost, as Gary Patterson is finally talked away from TCU. Vols make best hire of the off-season.

Not much for a back and forth huh?

On the contrary, I love a good back and forth. I disagree with your .500 prediction entirely, but I'm not yet committed to a set number of wins. It's more than 6, I'll say that.

I'll predict that Texas A&M becomes the powerhouse in the state within the next few years because of the dividends received from joining the SEC.

As long as Mack Brown continues to over-sign talent, we'll be behind them when it comes to recruiting numbers. Success does not come cheap in the SEC and we'll have to make strides in recruiting under Sumlin. He's doing great thus far, but you have to develope, and win. Unless high school kids view going over .500 in the SEC as equal to winning 7-8 games in the Big 12, we'll not be recognized to some.

Winning cures all, and having a coach like Sumlin will help. We need to continue to recruit based on who we are, not where we play. It helps, but TAMU needs to sell itself first and foremost.

So you want the Vols to do well, but you want Dooley gone? What a precarious position to be in.

Or I want the Vols to do well.

And if they do, then Dooley has taken a step to show he can coach. Otherwise, the team has done poorly and Dooley has to go.

My OP had more to do with Patterson than it does with Dooley anyway.

Michigan beats Bama in season opener. Robinson makes those big LBs look slow and takes the early heisman lead.

Here's mine:

3 1000 yard receivers (Hunter, Rogers, Patterson)
Bray throws for 4,500 yards
A.J. Johnson leads the team in tackles
Daniel McCullers causes a career ending injury by sitting on someone.
We actually have a running game, though no running back gets 1,000 yards
Pig Howard will be the surprise of the year.
Our defense will give up some points, but our offense will make up for it.

Prediction: 10-2 plus bowl. I think we lose to Alabubba and one of SC/UGA. But that's it. I honestly foresee a really good year. But as my wife says, "You said that last year."

Alabama is the main threat. 11-1 or 12-0 depending on them. Pig might run wild with all those threats out wide.

If Bray and Rogers are the only ones that leave, Worley should do fine with what will still be here.(Hunter, Patterson, Croom, Pig, Browles) In fact, we could be better in 2013 simply because our running game will hopefully be better and our defense will definitely be improved. Not buying the big let down in 2013.

Got a good vibe this morning with CP making it in so I wanted to throw some predictions out there. Add your own if you would like.

1 - Our offense will be the best overall offense in the SEC this year.

2 - Tyler Bray will be a top 2 qb in the draft next year.

I think Tennessee goes 8-4 and plays 8-4 Virginia in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl

UT goes undefeated and beats USC in NC game. Dooley wins both Coach of the Year and SEC Coach of the Year. Bray wins Heisman. Bray, D. Rogers, Hunter, and Patterson all bolt for NFL.

Vols all the way 125-1 odds. Gonna put a few hundy on that for sure why not. We could potentially have the best offenses in the nation. You just have to believe. Our team will be nothing like last year there is just no way.
