I think his act has just grown stale there. Time to move again.

Just finished reading this article, and its very prevalent to the topic. Louisville beat writer Rick Bozich calls Pitino's addition of woods to the roster "Desperate".
Determination used to be the word that defined Pitino. Desperation was the word I heard Monday as the news spread that Woods wanted to transfer here and Pitino had yet to reject it as the wrong player bringing the wrong baggage to the wrong program.

Yeah. Louisville's move to get Pitino was supposed to be the changing of the guard, and the end all to Kentucky dominance in basketball. When that pipe dream didn't come to fruition, things have slowly fell apart piece by piece.

And yet, UofL has a Final Four since he arrived, and Kentucky does not.

I always revert back to something I heard Doug Moe say when he came back to the NBA as an assistant for George Karl. "You can stand having a stiff on your roster. You can stand having a headache on you roster. You should never stand for having a guy who fills both roles." Pitino is taking body blows to his reputation for a kid who won't produce squat at Louisville.

I wouldn't advise anyone to hold their breath waiting for Louisville's next Final Four appearances. Well, there are a few people I wish would do that.

That may be so, but I still find it more than a little odd when a Cat fan characterizes the hiring of Pinto as a failed "pipe dream" for UofL.

The guy he replaced won two national titles and made a gaggle of Final Fours. There's no rational evidence that Pitino has been a big success at the 'Ville. They've had as many disappointing seasons as successes under him.

Exactly. I never said UL didn't have success during that period, I'm merely (and correctly) pointing out that the Pitino experiment didn't reach it's lofty heights that UL expected in the long run.

While it would be difficult to say he hasn't been successful at the Ville, he hasn't led them to the success they anticipated when he was hired. I still don't really understand why KY fans still hate him though---perhaps that is over now that they have Cal?

Crum's a deserving HoFer, but he had no Final Fours in his last 15 seasons. Pitino may not have been able to completely duplicate Denny's success through the '70s and '80s, but he has put two teams on the floor better than anything Louisville has seen since Never Nervous Pervis. In doing so, added some energy to a program that had become stale.

Pitino has been good for Louisville.

I never hated him to begin with. I have always supported Rick up until the whole scandal thing, where I lost some respect for him. The only thing I hated about Pitino coming to UL is the idiotic fans that you had to listen to here in KY.

Many UK fans (on the less intelligent side) like to hold a personal grudge against him. I could care less.

I don't have the inside scoop on every player and team and the great analysis of every player, team, and conference that you do; therefore, I am limited to one liners. You bring so much to this board, I'm just glad you recognize my limitations.

It would be to Pearl's benefit if UK stumbles obviously, if the 4 studs play and leave, he will add more guys like Trevor Lacey.

Johnny O'Bryant is now going to LSU. Guess he missed the genius of this board that Trent Johnson cannot coach.

Adonis Thomas and Rodney Hood are still possibilities but look unlikely...

I may make a new thread...TN still needs some bigs. Our deepest connection is obviously Tobias little brother. A deep run in the NCAA's could get us on the radar for some studs like:

or
Mike Shaw 2011 Basketball Recruiting Profile - ESPN
or
Nick Jacobs 2011 Basketball Recruiting Profile - ESPN
Nick Jacobs who is from Atlanta and is the only player I have listed so far who Pearl has a natural connection to location wise with his great celtic relationships and ware joining two guards from this year from Hotlanta. Really SPANKING Georgia this year and handling Thompkins could open Jacobs eyes. Especially if Fields plays good minutes and plays well and he knows he will be gone.
Tyler Harris 2011 Basketball Recruiting Profile - ESPN
This guy was mocked on here by people who said he only had offers because people wanted his brother Tobias. Now he is a top 100 player nationally. Hilarious talent evaluation skills...Tyler Harris playing with his brother would be a surprise but would be fun. He will get a great chance to see how his brother enjoys playing here and being coached by Bruce.
and finally
E. Victor Nickerson 2011 Basketball Recruiting Profile - ESPN
Victor Nickerson, another Atlanta guy. When ESPN talks about a guy as the 80th best player in the class, but also talks about him as weak, you know he is a project. It sounds like he could be another I Victor for TN, except I think our S&C is now much better than it was then.

Also 2011 recruiting

Kentucky 1 (and it could get better as a class...SICK group of talent)
Arkansas is 4
Florida is 18
Georgia is 22
LSU is 23
and TN is one quality big away from jumping back into the top 25. If we got Tyler Harris we would be around 15 I think.

The SEC is getting in lots and lots of talent as a conference.

In addition to 2011 5-star SG Ben McLemore, it looks like 2011 5-star SF DeAndre Daniels, 2012 5-star PF Jarnell Stokes and 2013 5-star SF Jonathan Williams will also be on campus this weekend according to The Recruit Scoop.

WOW

If by WOW, you mean 0-4 on these guys then you're right. McLemore is going to KU, Daniels is tough to get a read on but you have to figure its KU or UK, and Stokes and JW3 are both Memphis locks.
