2011 recruiting Class

This years recruiting class overall is very solid and filled alot of needs. Coach Dooley and staff done a great job and imo will pay huge dividends in 2012's recruiting class. This staff got in on some guys noone gave us a chance at. Timmy jernigan was one, dont let anyone fool you here, the vols made a huge favorable impression with him and gave him alot to think about.
The biggest disappointment for me in this class clearly is the miss on Lamar Dawson. He was back and forth these last 36 hours or so between us and usc, that was truly a battle til the final hour. The coaches thought he was all but locked up last night. Strange situation.
Also disappointed on Mackey, if the coaches made a mistake it was thinking they would not have the room for him, he was ours. They thought Dawson and Wright were in the bag. the suprise i alluded to earlier was Jernigan, after he contacted the coaches monday many felt we had a decent shot with him.
But like i said, over all a very good class that filled alot of needs and thing's were done the rite way. This staff headed up by coach Dooley work hard and do things like they should. If you knew of how some schools negative recruit another institution or just down right break rules you would appreciate this staff much more. I seriously doubt you can find one recruit that will say this staff said anything negative about another university.

I think Dawson will wish he went to UT later on. When USC is not on TV or playing in a bowl. Just remember Sentral Henderson from last year. Kiffin will have USC on probation. It will all catch up with Kiffin and Ed O.

Thanks for all the good info, Skeeter, and enjoy your time away! Really like this class, and even though I'm sick about the loss of Dawson, I'm just trying to keep in mind the we got an overall well rounded class, with most importantly NO DE-COMMITS today!

Class act skeet...you helped make this an interesting NSD. We're never gonna get them all, but with our current roster, I feel the coaches put together what will be a solid group of contributors. Sure, some of these guys will under-perform or will be recruited over...but if 17 or so of these guys end up being 2s on the DC in 2 years then we've got the depth problem solved. Now its on to spring ball and then bracing for another fall of football. Can't wait!

I think the 2011 class and the ones we have now will surprise folks this season; 8-4. Don't know how but I have faith!!!! Won't have the depth problems we had this past season. GBO.
