If anyone comes up with another MVP candidate, I will add them to the poll.

Lebron James, and my runner-up is definitely Dwight Howard. When was the last time a guy had 23 ppg, 14 rpg, and shot 60%? Shaq, Duncan, Robinson, Ewing and Olajuwan never put up numbers like that.

Why all the love for Rose? 9 votes to Lebron's 2?

Lebron
26.2 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 7.2 apg, 1.5 spg, .488 FG%

Rose
25.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 8.2 apg, 1.0 spg, .447 FG%

Lebron has better numbers and is there any one of you that would actually select Rose over Lebron to start a franchise?

Because stats mean about || that much to me.

LeDwayne Bosh is doing exactly what everyone knew they would, obliterating lesser teams en route to a lot of wins.

Derrick Rose is a force for his team, EASILY the biggest contributor and has them nipping at Boston and Miami's heels at just 2 games back.

My reasoning as well, stat lines and value aren't necessarily parallel.

I know they've had some injury issues, but I would rather have both Noah and Boozer than Bosh. And Deng is having a pretty damn good year. Rose is the leader, but you can't discount Lebron for what he has around him and at the same time ignore what Rose has around him. Regardless of what team he has around him, Lebron is the best player in the league.

Best? Arguably... I still say Kobe is better.

Most valuable? No. I'm not a fan of Bosh either, but it's never been a secret that he can squash inferior competition all day long, same for Wade.

Basically, Rose is a bigger contributor for his team than Lebron is for his, and the Bulls are basically just about as good as the Heat.

And if none of that works for you, just accept that Lebron killed his chances at any more regular season MVP's the second he announced where he was taking his talents.

So you are you saying you don't think Wade is that good (it's kind of unclear to me what you were saying about him)? And you don't think Bosh is that good?

I'd say Wade is one of the 5 best players in the league (I have never liked Wade, though. Ever since he shot 2000 free throws in the NBA finals), but I still think Lebron is MVP.

And in my opinion, Kobe has never been the best player in the league. He has an extremely versatile skill set and smooth game, but he isn't efficient enough to be in that conversation.

I know that LeBron plays for the Heat now, but one look at what Cleveland did last year and what they are doing this year shows me that he is worth 50 wins...no player in the league can touch that.

If Rose played elsewhere, the Bulls would still be a decent team.
If Kobe played elsewhere the Lakers would still be a decent team.

I agree with whoever mentioned Dwight Howard as being in the race, that last month he has been amazing.

I think that it goes like this.

Lebron James
Dwight Howard
Kevin Durant
Derrick Rose
Kobe Bryant

I don't see all the love for Rose, I think some of you watch too much PTI and have heard Michael Wilbon talk him up, like he does every single day.

No they wouldn't.

They still have some very good players, Boozer/Noah/Deng...they would be decent.

Like I said, Rose isn't worth 50 wins, the Cave won 66 games last year, this year they are one of the worst team in NBA history.

I say lebron with rose a close 2nd. Rose means a ton to his team. Without him they could make the playoffs but they wouldn't be in contention for the top seed like they are. And yes lebron meant a ton to the cavs, but if you take him of that heat team this year they would still be capable of winning 50 games.
