seeing lots of folks predicting about 7 wins. I believe this is the year we do great things. Everyone is looking ahead to 2012 as if we aren't going to be good this year.

I say we are going to be contenders this year! the heck with next year, until the end of this season.

Dooley will not have the same 2nd year "magic" that many of the other SEC coaches had

only thing it's fair to expect from a team of freshmen and sophomores is inconsistency. I'll be pleased if the moments of brilliance are truly brilliant and they work to minimize the bone headed errors throughout the season. talent without experience is erratic. Talent plus experience equals consistently good results. the breaks could go our way this year, and we could surprise some people, but it's not fair to expect it.

They'd better because they sure as hell didn't last year (minus the Ole Miss game.)

I wouldn't consider myself a true fan if I didn't think UT was going to win most if not all of their games at the beginning of each year. I still have high hopes each year and I don't care about being realistic

Our best chances for upsets will be against UGA, USCe and FL.. Sorry, but I just don't see us getting Ws in all 3. As said previously, inexperience and lack of solid depth at some positions will likely lose a game or 2.. My money is on UGA, but I don't like our chances against the other 2..

I'm still thinking 7 wins. 8 or 9 isn't completely out of reach.. but like the Sheik said - those would be unfair expectations IMO

Also, Tauren Poole will get the 2,000 record, Bray will have 4,000 passing, Hunter will have 15 TD's, Dooley will cure cancer. Why not keep it going, I will win the powerball and get to have sex with Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Erin Andrews and Katy Perry all on the same day and if I have the stamina, all at the same time.

To expect 9 wins out of this team, I think, is not a far-fetched as everyone else believes. We have what seems to be enough talent the only question is how many mistakes will we make. And yes freshmen and sophomores are more prone to making mistakes but that doesn't mean just because they are freshmen and sophomores that they will.

That's true, 5 missed field goals is pretty horrible luck for them.

Although having Tauren Poole miss the last three quarters was pretty bad luck for us. They didn't even have to worry about the possibility of us running once he went down.

Quarter in which he played: 2 offensive touchdowns

Three quarters in which he didn't: 0 offensive touchdowns

I remember one big and the rest were earned

+1
The Justin Hunter head bounce for TD was one, the rest was a big orange crush from what I remember. I mean how many INT's did we have on top of the rest of the stomping?

Lucky? I don't think so

I think you are talking about Brays first pass that was tipped into the hands of Justin Hunter.A good Safety would have picked that off.Or was it a linebacker that should have picked it off.Go Vols!!!!!

Lucky that Masoli had an off day an threw like 4 ints? Probably a combination of both really.

He even said this is year one.

I hope some of these folks claiming that this is the year aren't going to be booing, and calling for our staffs head when we drop a dew games and end up 8-4, or 7-5. There is nothing wrong with thinking this is the year even though it clearly isn't. Everyone will have different expectations- I get that.
