What ever happened to this 4 star stud after he de- commited from us? I just looked him up on rivals and it still has him listed as a UT committ though he decommitted back when fall practice started...No one picked him up?

JUCO in AZ

really??? I was under the impression that one of the reasons he left UT was b/c he has a kid in SC and felt he had a responsibility to be back in SC.

Can't help but notice that two of our strongest VFL recruits in the past 2 recruiting classes (Martin and Arnett) are now gone.

Our requirements for VFL have dropped off drastically with these two mentioned non players.

It happens. There's still a few dozen VFL's from those two classes who are currently on the team.

Of course. It just goes to show us fans that what a kid says only means so much. Stuff happens and things change. But if you would've asked me who would be the one recruit from 2010 and 2011 recruiting classes to leave within their first year, I never would've said Pat Martin and DeAnthony Arnett.

Maybe I misunderstand the term "VFL" as Meaning "Vol for Life". If I am correct, how in the hell would we give a recruit that title before he steps foot on campus. To me that seems more of a prestigious title earned by actually playing and giving their all for tennessee today! I definitely support the idea of guys buying into the VFL mentality, but it should be earned as well!

Don't you know, every new recruit will start the moment he steps foot on campus. 100% of them are better than everyone currently playing.

VFL is a program, not an award

No, Pat figured out real fast that he was way over his head in the SEC. I think after about three days of practice, he was ready to depart

People always talk about how poorly we've recruited defensive tackle recently, but look at how unlucky we've been at SS as well in recent classes...
- Darren Myles
- Eddrick Loften
- Pat Martin
Hopefully The Darrell ends the recent drought.

No, that was Kembrall Thomkins (sp?)...Kiffin was also after him at one point

after him is an understatement. He signed his LOI to play here, thats why he had to sit out last year and this was his first year at cincy... kiffin's one year is the gift that keeps on giving

I thought that Pat Martin was asked to move along because he was too slow for SS and not big enough for LB. Am I mis-remembering that?
