2010 Vols equal 2008 Bama

Wow. Not even close. Alabama was dominant on offense last year because of a big veteran offensive line with a lot of talent. Tennessee will be the opposite of that on the offensive line in 2010.

You guys are too negative. Look, I lived in Alabama when Saban was hired and they sucked and had no depth talent-wise when he arrived. Those of you who claim Shula stockpiled talent in T-Town didn't follow the Tide closely. It's all about attitude and the work the guys put in.

Shula bred a culture of working just as hard as you CHOOSE to, because he didn't know what it takes to become a champion in college football. Just like a young Nick Saban, Kiffin has championship experience. If he's a winner, UT can improve quickly just like Alabama did. Success breeds success, and if the team wants to win they will work harder than the guy next to them to ensure success.

That's just the way it goes. If Kiffin convinces the team that he is a winner, they will buy in and win. Not just in the future, but now.

Fine. But it helps to have a caldwell and an antoine smith sitting on the shelf... UT doesn't have that luxury.

Andre Smith was the only true "elite" lineman Shula recruited. Antoine Caldwell, Mike Johnson, and Drew Davis were not very highly recruited at all, but they blossomed into good players once they had a champion as their coach and decided to work. The same thing can happen for the Vols.

2010 Vols = 2008 Bama????

So, that would mean something like:

2010 Kiffin = 2008 Saban?

Uh, I don't think so. Try 2010 Kiffin = 2004 Zook or 2006 Shula. Although that may not be fair to Zook or Shula.

People can spin things anyway they want, but to presume that the 2010 UT team will go 12-0 in what could be the most difficult regular season schedule in many years for the volunteers is just pure homerism at its finest.

I agree. I just can't discount it after seeing the dramatic change Nick Saban made in Alabama from year one to year two. For the most part I agree with you. I think it will happen, but maybe four years or so.

I think 2011 is much more likely to be the "08 Bama" year for us than 2010. We will be young at QB but experienced and talented everywhere else on the field.

I do think 2010 will be a better season for us than this year, however.

:good!:

Only difference is that 08 Bama had a senior QB that didn't lose games and we'll have a true freshman or a sophomore QB in 2011. Tough to go undefeated with a young QB. I think we'll be very good in 2011, I just think the young QB is going to hold us back a bit. We should totally rock in 2012.

2010 will be interesting, I think we'll be a bit too young on the lines to be a dominant force. We'll be good but probably not much better than 8-4 or 9-3 in 2010. We'll still be overcoming the talent gap caused by the couple of lean recruiting classes we had in 2007 and 2008.

Let me get this straight. You think Stephens at QB next year is a "good potential"? Stephens can't beat out Crompton for heaven's sake.

Every time you come on here you takethe negativity to a new lowm. You trashed a normal hypothetical with your inane commentsm. I wish we could trade you to a bama or gator board. I would rather listen to them any day because at least you know where they are coming from and they don't pretend to be something they are not. You onthe other hand, cloak yourself as a Vol fan when you are nothing of the sort. You are truly disgusting.

So Stephens has less physical tools than JPW? Also JPW was saved by his offensive coordinator all year last year. Play-action can make any receiver and QB look good when you have a strong running game to set the tone.

You really, really have no clue what you are talking about. If you think you are disgusted now, give Kiffin a few seasons.

Sibce it is my own opinion of your cobstant negativity I know exactly what I am talking about. It has nothing to do with Kiffin, No mattrt who the new coach is as a Vol fan I will support him until he has shown he doesn't deserve it. So far he has done everything he said he would do. If he performs like Fulmer did the last 5-7 years then he should go too. My disgust is absolutely reserved for you.

Just give it up. 5150 was a Fulmer fan...not a University of Tennessee fan. He is nothing more than a troll.
