4th string linebackers are lbs 10-12. If you can name 12 lbs that played last yr ill give a hundred bucks. Regardless that would be the worst time to bring berry up. Because instead of giving up 8yd runs they turn into 6. See ole miss

You are too negative about UT sports way too often! You don't like Pearl. Yet, we are two points away from a Final Four with non Final Four talent. Now, you are predicting we get hammered by several opponents in football this fall.

I think the coaching staff is going to surprise a lot of people. Do we have the depth and talent to keep up with UA, UF, or LSU? Absolutely not, but, we will not get trounced the way you are predicting! Yes, I have on orange colored glasses. But, it is better than wearing gloom and doom bifocals. Feel free to refer back to this thread after the USC game and our Cotton Bowl win!

UT Martin W 44 - 13
Oregon W 27 - 24
Florida L 13 - 27
UAB W 34 - 17
LSU L 20 - 27
Georgia W 30 - 24
Bama L 17 - 27
USC W 27 - 24
Memphis W 41 - 20
Ole Miss W 30 - 24
Vandy W 38 - 23
Kentucky W 31 - 20

Cotton Bowl W 20 - 17 vs the non real UT

Final record 10 - 3

Man, I LOVE your confidence but everyone pretty much knew this year was going to be real tough even had the former coach stayed....

I HATE to say 6-6 would be acceptable but I'd be ecstatic with that record this year....

You're right. But how many times have we been stacked on paper in the past and played down and lost to lesser teams that wanted it more.

UT-Martin 41-13 W. Good warm up for the Oregon game!

Oregon 24-27 W. Oregon is a top 20 team but the Tennessee D is still to much for the P10 Wilcox D and Home advantage make this a W

Florida 42-17 L. Brantley will get injured after he is hit by Jackson but UF still wins

UAB 35 - 13 W. Savor this one. It might be some time before UT gets back in the win column.

at LSU 24 - 17 L. A good SEC game but to much for the VOL offence

at Georgia 21-10 W Georgia isn't good

Alabama 42-10 L. Get ready for another rendition of Rammer Jammer by the 35,000 Alabama fans in attendance.

at South Carolina 27-14 W. Spurrier sucks and has no QB

at Memphis 48-10 W. Beat down, our receivers shine

Ole Miss 21-17 W. The Rebs won't be very good this year.

at Vanderbilt 31-17 W. Neither will Vanderbilt.

Kentucky 24-21 W. I'm not picking Kentucky til they actually win one against UT.

So? He's not in the WAC anymore. Welcome to real football.

Please God tell that to the same Oregon team we are playing this year .... PLEASE TELL THEM!!!!!!

Look at Boise CB Kyle Wilson's Rivals recruit profile in 2005 and then look at the 2010 NFL Draft Results!!!! Look at his picture and his rating and then ask yourself why he chose Boise State over his other amazing offers.........AND THEN ASK HIM ABOUT JUSTIN WILCOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just want everyone else on the board to know not to worry about SGM anymore!!!!!! Dooley will take care of him.....Can someone please be designated to hat????

McCoy
Lathers
Frazier
N. Reviez
King
Thorton
S. Reviez
Askew
Thompson

It might not be the 12 but it is 9 and that makes it all the way thru the 3rd string

and most of those guys didnt play because of injury. They played because you are supposed to clean out your bench in lopsided games. How many linebackers got hurt? reveiz frazier...help me out

Oregon will be much closer game.

They have been a team that starts EXTREMELY slow to begin their season for a while now and they don't have Masoli.

It will be a defensive showcase for both sides and the Vols could pull it out with great special teams and little to no turnovers.

The rest, Hat, is pretty much how I see it playing out with just a few minor discrepancies(ex: the FL game being closer with UT still losing).

I'd say the Oregon game will be a bit closer, may come down to the 4th quarter but the rest is just about right.

Beating Texas, haha yes. That's what we're going to do this season. Beat the team that has their own conference.

All I know is that Boise State was 14th overall in total defense and scoring defense....I'm pretty confident that Wilcox will have a better D than Monte, who IMO wasn't at all impressive. So I at least hope the scores aren't that bad

I know the Ole Miss game was a disaster for the D and the lack of picks made it look pretty bad but didn't we have like the least TD passes against in the country? Anyways i think we'll all like wilcox. He will have to be creative tho to give us a chance to win imo.

I really feel like we will shock Oregon. Defense will be better, IMO, even with the loss of EB. Monte was way overrated last year. Wilcox will play multiple sets to utilize our strengths, not just a solid 4-3 no matter what. Chaney in the long run will be a better OC than CLK will probably ever be, not to mention a better developer of QB talent. CDD will definitely make better game decisions than CLK (who had me scratching my head several times last year), not to mention more prepared. Oh, and not taking away from Hardesty, but perhaps our best RB never saw the field last year. I mean who knows how good Poole really is? He was incredible when he did touch the ball. We will surprise some people just wait and see.

The bolded section is wrong.

You typically are never as bad as you think you are, and never as good as you think you are. Tennessee has a great chance against Oregon. That isn't being optimistic that is being realistic. Not saying they will win, but we have a great shot for the upset. Georgia and South Carolina are toss up games no matter the teams. Georgia lost to KY last year at home, enough said. LSU has a terrible coach, poor QB, and we are bound to score some points against third and Chavis. Not disagreeing with the overall wins and losses, but we aren't as bad as some think. Seven wins is not far fetched.

People always use this as ammo against Hat. Those same people must have missed the postgame report he did right after the EE game giving Pearl his props and commending his coaching last year

I couldn't have said it better myself... Oregon is always beatable early in the year, and having to travel across the country with an inexperienced qb just plays in our favor.
