2010 Game By Game

I really feel like we will shock Oregon. Defense will be better, IMO, even with the loss of EB. Monte was way overrated last year. Wilcox will play multiple sets to utilize our strengths, not just a solid 4-3 no matter what. Chaney in the long run will be a better OC than CLK will probably ever be, not to mention a better developer of QB talent. CDD will definitely make better game decisions than CLK (who had me scratching my head several times last year), not to mention more prepared. Oh, and not taking away from Hardesty, but perhaps our best RB never saw the field last year. I mean who knows how good Poole really is? He was incredible when he did touch the ball. We will surprise some people just wait and see.

I agree with you 100%, but be prepared for the shock and Awe treatment from the Kiffinites after a statement like that.. I believe some of them actually have plans to have they kittens over for Turkey day dinner thid Nov. :)

I have a feeling we'll keep the Oregon game close...possibly win it.

A team that has never played in Neyland....add the heat and humidit....and the fact that they'll travel across the country...WITHOUT Masoi.

Winable.

I dont think Monte used EB to his advantage as much as he could of and it was almost as if he went into the locker at half time of the bowl game and had a sandwich and watched a couple "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" episodes!!!

That would be great. Not likely, but great.

UT-Martin 31-14 W. It won't be pretty and Dooley will be glad they aren't playing an FBS opponent.

Oregon 38-14 L. Oregon is a top 20 team. Tennessee is maybe a top 50 team.

Florida 45-10 L. Brantley will make UT look worse than Tebow did.

UAB 28-17 W. Savor this one. It'll be some time before UT gets back in the win column.

at LSU 24-3 L. No QB+Inexperienced OL+Tiger Stadium=Beatdown.

at Georgia 21-10 L. Georgia isn't good, but they're better than UT.

Alabama 42-10 L. Get ready for another rendition of Rammer Jammer by the 35,000 Alabama fans in attendance.

at South Carolina 24-14 L. Spurrier's mediocre bunch extends the misery.

at Memphis 28-10 W. At last.

Ole Miss 21-17 W. The Rebs won't be very good this year.

at Vanderbilt 31-17 W. Neither will Vanderbilt.

Kentucky 24-21 W. I'm not picking Kentucky til they actually win one against UT.

Independence Bowl Who cares?

I am glad you see the truth about Ole Miss. McLuster was practically their entire offense. Snead also made a poor decision to leave early. I think we win that one

No Eric Berry + No Dan Williams + Not a future NFL HOFer = No chance.

Wilcox will be very good in Knoxville. Monte Kiffin, he isn't.

What kind of basis is that for how good a college defense will be? Besides, who knew Dan Williams would be as good as was last year?

If our linebackers could have stopped the run, Monte wouldn't have had to use EB as a de facto 4th LB.

UTM W 38-10
Oregon L 24-20
Florida L 28-13
UAB W 35-13
@LSU L 20-17
@UGA W 21-20
Bama L 35-10
@SCar W 24-21
@Memphis W 35-14
Ole Miss W 28-20
@Vandy W 28-9
Kentucky W 27-21

I don't think we'll score more than 40 points against any opponent this season, for obvious reasons. We'll be leaning pretty heavily on our Defense, and I'm expecting a few big ST plays that could possibly change some games (say, @UGA, @SCar, Kentucky)...

But we all know predictions this soon are completely pointless. This is just my take.

eric berry could fly up from the safety position and stop the run. He was actually more effective at it in 08 from the safety position all the time. All putting him up did was take away his ability to make big plays. Horrendous use of one of the greatest playmaking safeties ever

I would jump for joy if we ended up with that record

It doesn't matter if he makes the tackle once the RB already has 8 yards.

You are too negative about UT sports way too often! You don't like Pearl. Yet, we are two points away from a Final Four with non Final Four talent. Now, you are predicting we get hammered by several opponents in football this fall.

I think the coaching staff is going to surprise a lot of people. Do we have the depth and talent to keep up with UA, UF, or LSU? Absolutely not, but, we will not get trounced the way you are predicting! Yes, I have on orange colored glasses. But, it is better than wearing gloom and doom bifocals. Feel free to refer back to this thread after the USC game and our Cotton Bowl win!

UT Martin W 44 - 13
Oregon W 27 - 24
Florida L 13 - 27
UAB W 34 - 17
LSU L 20 - 27
Georgia W 30 - 24
Bama L 17 - 27
USC W 27 - 24
Memphis W 41 - 20
Ole Miss W 30 - 24
Vandy W 38 - 23
Kentucky W 31 - 20

Cotton Bowl W 20 - 17 vs the non real UT

Final record 10 - 3

It's east to make predictions in July, but the only thing we know for sure now is the season never plays out like it looks on paper. That's why they play the games. GO VOLS!

That would be a good thing for us, because on paper we are boned.

I will add this, I don't think the results of this schedule would be any different if Kiffin would have stayed.

You are either not a VOL fan or extremely negative! 8 and 5 with wins over Oregon and USC

You are absolutely wrong on this one..... the wins we would have for this upcoming year would have either been forfeited or vacated in the next 3-10 years.
