Has your outlook for the Vols 2010 football season changed over the last couple of weeks?

Your Present Expectations:

1. The Vols will win more games than I first thought.

2. The Vols will not lose some games as badly as I first thought.

3. The Vols will do about what I first expected in 2010.

3. I just don't see more than 7 (8 if we are lucky) wins this year....which is what I've been saying all along

3. Maybe during training camp we'll see something that might raise hopes a little, but I'm not betting on it. We are still a 6-6 team with a shot at 7-5 if we can beat a team we're not expected too.

I feel like our win total will be 6 at the lowest and 8 at the highest. I have never understood the doom and gloom around our program. We still have talent, they just lack experience. This won't be an easy year, we are all aware of that, but the future looks bright. This staff has done a pretty good job thus far. Recruiting is picking up steam. There is plenty of reasons for optimism. GO VOLS!!!!

QB and O line play.

D will have to learn a new scheme and terms.

Put the special back into special teams.

It will take a lot of work, but we are the VOLS!

I think we've helped that area alot this year by signing the top punter and kicker

OL play is the biggest key. I would venture to guess a lot of the new terminology and nuance's of the defense were gone over in the spring. Our defense looked pretty good overall in the O&W game. Special Teams: such an important facet of the game that is not as talked about as it should. I would like to see some more pop from our return game, kick the ball through the end zone, and be able to pin a team deep on punts. After stating all that, I just want to see improved ST play.

You will see alot of that with Palardy, not a doubt in my mind. That kid can kick.

Ditto on that. I have been excited about him since he committed. Palardy and Darr are an improvement on what we have at the moment. The best part being that we have 4 years of them :dance2:.

These recruits are not going to pay dividends until the end of the year at the earliest. Weaknesses are at OL, QB, and DT. Not good if we get behind. Lots of pounding the rock against our DT's. W's against UTM, UAB, Memphis, UK, and Vandy. Would feel better about SC, LSU, and UGA if they were in Knoxville. Guaranteed L's to UF, Bama. Oregon is still loaded even though they lost their QB. Just being realistic. Next year will be better. I'll be happy with 6 wins and a bowl game.

Nothing has changed. Still saying 5-7.

3....but, with so many unknowns, the room for error is large. I've imagined about 6-7 wins, but know that comes with at least a 2 game margin for error, either way. There has been lots of good news lately, but the bulk of it relates to 'structural' sort of information that will matter more in a year or two (recruiting, primarily). QB, OL, and the 'D' under Wilcox will tell the tale and determine whether we are at the 4 win or 8 win end of the spectrum. I think the next most important unknowns are special teams and penalties/discipline. Think either extreme is entirely possible - we just don't know a lot about the team that'll actually be on the field this year.

8 wins.

We play florida and Bama real close.

We make a bowl and do not get beat like a drum.

somewhere between #1 and #2. I'm still in a wait and see mode, but I'm pretty excited about the season.

I think we will win 7 games and im predicting we will go 1-1 against florida and alabama and probably lose a game which we should not.. like ole miss or (i hate to even type it) memphis. But overall i feel good about what lies ahead. It could be a really tough year, but then again, it could be a surprisingly great year for all we know.

For what it is worth here is how I'm looking at 2010

Better-be-sure wins: Martin, UAB, Memphis, Mississippi and Vandy

Splits:
We’ll win one and lose one between Florida and Oregon
We’ll win one and lose two between LSU, GA and Alabama

Surprises: We’ll get beat by SC and KY

That means we should be 4-4 going into November, 7-4 going up against Kentucky and will be surprised when they finally beat us. We’ll end up with a bowl closer to Christmas than New Years.
Go Vols!
