2010 Depth Chart

Fowlkes is at 260 lbs - and is getting reps inside.

Sykes, around 260 - 270, as has been reported is making progress - this is just his second year of football since he graduated high school (didn't play juco ball). His body and position have changed. Worth watching how he progresses.

Latest spring practice reports on Govols and other sites have indicated Thomas was struggling at center and Shaw was moved over there to see how he'd do (he struggled snapping the ball as one would suspect). I doubt seriously they'd play Hood at 255 pounds (right now). Maybe they'll beef him up some more between now and the fall though.

1) I know Bartholomew is a TE, that's why I put (TE) next to his name.
2) Fugate will probably redshirt.
3) I'll be surprised if Walls and Hughes are not the starting DT's at UT-M.
4) I would rather play talent than play a local kid. We need wins.

IMO, Brown gets in he will start over Walls. Walls is too small to be more than 15 snap a game player. Anymore than that he will lose effectiveness as game and season goes along. Just too small.

Kid loves UT and fights hard as he can but jsut not big enough to play DT. Austin Johnson is bigger than Walls..

What about Rajion Neal getting time at rb he is big, stocky, and has really good speed at 4.49, especially for a 220 lb running back. I personally believe he will see some action... thoughts everybody

I thought Walls was up to 270, is that not the case?

these are SO stupid to do right now. there are like 17 different threads doing depth charts. And the only change in this one is there isnt Stephens. Then you see this persons opinion. Lets hold off on making a depth chart until the real one comes out?

other than that hes pretty much correct. which bores me.

Wasn't he up to like 280 or something last season?

Nice job!!

This is the feeling I'm getting...I've bolded the differences...

QB: Simms; 2: Bray
RB: Poole; 2: Oku
FB: Cooper; 2: Fugate (I think being in spring practice solidifies him as 2nd team)
TE: Stocker; 2: Rivera
WR: Moore; 2: Teague
WR: Jones; 2: Rogers/Milton (Whichever is farther along)
OT: Thomas; 2: Pair
OG: Schofield; 2: Pope
OC: Thomas; 2: Hood
OG: Shaw; 2: Revis
OT: James; 2: Stone (3 freshmen will have to contribute this year...just no way around it IMO)

DE: Walker; 2: Bohannon (while I agree I also think Smith or Miller could split this spot with Bohanon..at this point I'd say Smith)
DT: Hughes; 2: Jeffery
DT: Walls; 2: Brown
DE: Martin; 2: Williams
OLB: Thompson: 2: Askew ( I think Askew will solidify being 2nd team SLB this spring)
MLB: Johnson; 2: Reveiz (Not sure why so many are so sure Reveiz will step right back into the starting role...I think Johnson keeps this position)
OLB: King; 2: Lathers (I'm not getting a good feeling about Frazier...there's no buzz about how his recovery is going...generally if recovery is going well we hear about it)
CB: Oliver; 2: Evans (I just think Oliver is a better player and proves it with the opportunity he's getting this spring)
FS: Jackson; 2: Waggner
SS: Myles; 2: Loften (If this kid gets in he'll be hard to keep off the field)
CB: Gordon; 2: Clark (Clark could win this role but I'm giving it to Gordon for now since he's at spring practice and Clark still has to prove he's recovered from his knee injury)

P: Palardy; 2: Cunningham
K: Palardy; 2: Lincoln
KOS: Palardy; 2: Cunningham

Stone will play OG or OC here. He is not an OT.

I already had Bohannon at 2nd team DE.

For only being 5'11, that's pretty thick. He'll definitely be playing at around 220 lbs while he's here.

yeah i was thinkin he would play around that weight... if the web sites are right then he is really quick for his size

I agree about Stone but we may be forced to play him out of position for this year...he may be a player that ends up seeing time at every OL position during his career here...

And I bolded Bohanon because I was saying that I could see Smith or Miller (probably Smith) take that spot...but for the UT-Martin game I definitely see Bohanon in the 2-deep

The most recently updated roster on utsports.com has Walls listed as 6'3" and 290lbs...that makes him one of the biggest DT's we have behind Hughes (315lbs)...bigger than John Brown who's listed at 6'2" 285lbs

Smith will either redshirt or play as a 3rd team/reliever type player this season.

Thanks Vader for the edit job and if I offened any UT fan on this board please for give me, but look I wouldn't in million years think that our Depth Chart sunk this low. I want to look at the bright side but I played high school and college football and you almost always have injures upfront on the O & D line I just hope we win

never believe those measureables. Once you see them in person, you can tell real quick some are not close to what they are listed at.. he is not as big, height or weight as Austin Johnson
