4 starting seniors this year on Offense: Foster, Taylor, Foster and Parker.

5 starting seniors this year on Defense: Ayers, Bolden, McKenzie, Wilson, Willingham.

The 2008 Vols are yet young. Things can get better. Its not news that 2009 is the year to watch for if progress continues.:zeitung_lesen:

It won't matter what they have coming back next year if Fulmer comes with them.:banghead2:

2009 vols 9-4 that would be progress from 5-7 after this year. Hamilton declares progress has been made and contract extensions and raises are in order. I'am just about convinced i'll be dead before philpa retires.

i'd rather not become the cubs of college football with the wait till next year crap, but i guess it could be headed that way.

well considering that any championship hopes we had at the beginning of the season are in fact a pipe dream today, i don't see the harm in looking at the potential prospects for what 09 could bring.

You know I appreciate the criticism, but the "wait 'til the next coach" threads get old too.

Defense stiffens, improved quarterback play, beginning to hit the long ball, confidence in Creer, improvement of defensive line substitutes including play of Martin and Walker. These are few things that strike me off the top of my head. Maybe Foster will realize that this is his last chance in a big game and show something. There is more to say, but that's what I got now.

All I have seen is a team that looks better against crappy competition than it did against less-crappy competition. The offense is still atrocious.

We haven't fumbled a handoff in a while, so I guess that is something...

If Nick Stephens stays healthy I would expect a better situation at quarterback next year. I would expect the RB position to be better and maybe we can hold on to the ball early next year after Fumbleitis Foster graduates. I would expect our defensive secondary to be very strong. It seems that the Offensive and Defensive line depth will again be our chink in the armor just like this year given our recent inability to recruit quality linemen. You would think Fulmer's strong suit would be the lines but he has even let that slip by him.

I couldn't agree more. It's hard to beat the top teams if you have to try to do it with smoke and mirrors if you don't have quality line play. I don't see us winning any more than 8 games next year without some lucky breaks.

Especially with Richard and McClendon returning I think the offensive line looks ok.

If you haven't seen improvement since UCLA, you weren't watching very close. Before you blast me for saying that, I'm not saying everything is great, just saying there has been definate improvement. I will also ad, you have to get a little better, before you can get a lot better.

That would be fine except ALABAMA has 9 seniors on SCHOLARSHIP.

I'm not sure if FLORIDA has more than 1 or 2 seniors that start.
