I hope so.

We have a skilled, energetic coordinator with multiple championships under his belt.

The roster is decimated in several areas (especially OL).

The QB play last year was all time bad.

The assistant coaching and recruiting prowess have been dramatically upgraded.

Maybe CJP can lead us to where this program was headed when CLK was hired.

Seriously... UGA and SC games were fun, but we absolutely wet the bed against UCLA, Auburn and VT. They weren't exactly glory days.

Was that the game in LA? If so, I was at that game. We didnt wet the bed IIRC. Their no-name QB came out after halftime and played the game of his life. But yeah, I dont remember the Kiffin year too fondly

Can’t forget that. But we had our largest margin of victory vs S Car and UGa in years. And came close to beating Alabama with 2 walk-on OL

Pruitt knows the kind of athlete it takes to win in the SEC, Butch Jones recruited allot of soft high character guys that couldn't play for Vanderbilt or Kentucky:banghead2:

right.. Hard to expect players right our of HS to come in and start like Smith due to lack of strength.. Therefore you go JUCO/Existing roster players to put a decent OL together until several cycles come in.

In the meantime, Lane Kiffin is one of 8 finalists for the Eddie Robinson Sugar Bowl Coach of the Year award which will be announced on the 16th. Sure could use him now!

That Ole Miss game was an epic beat down! I swore I'd never go watch another game in Oxford after that massacre, only to watch another beating a few years later. That was the beginning of the end for Kiffy. I'm pretty sure he knew before that game, where he was headed...

Leach's offense would have masked our garbage line... meanwhile hopefully Pruitt can get a couple of grad & juco transfers.

Yes. We choked away UCLA at home. Florida owned us even tho final score looked semi respectable. Auburn abused us at home, but tee got some late meaningless scores to make it look less worse. Bama was the pinnacle and we should have had it, but it slipped away. Ole Miss was should have been some kind of illegal assault. VT was Ole Miss redux.

Monte was a beast vs Pro Style offenses. He was a child vs the pace and space offenses of AU, UM, VT. Long story short we weren't very good. So no, no romantic memory of 2009. Plus our immature HC kept embarrassing us and eventually got us in some NCAA punishment.

Not good, but great riddance.
