If we can get past florida in the swamp, I feel really good about our chances. I think the new coaches with get us going quickly. I am also concerned about the Bama game, but they will be replacing their QB and RB...<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="http://www.latourgolf.net/la-tour-golf-nets/pages/1957/are-pro-golfers-afraid-to-comment-on-tiger-woods-and-that-the-mass-medica-will-construe-it-as-racism.html"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.latourgolf.net/la-tour-golf-nets/pages/1957/are-pro-golfers-afraid-to-comment-on-tiger-woods-and-that-the-mass-medica-will-construe-it-as-racism.html" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>

Of course there is a chance. There's always a chance. I think, at this point, UT and UGA are fighting for 2nd in the east. UGA loses alot of big playmakers on offense and a few starters in the secondary. Their QB play will be suspect and could easily lead to a few losses that aren't expected.

UF loses a few playmakers but gains them right back. If they start out in a slump like this year, we could possibly nip them but we will definitely have to get into their heads and force mistakes for that to happen.

if we get Richardson MB and Pat Patterson our offense could be stout.

But with Oku and the rest of the stable of backs, does it hurt our chances of getting Richardson?

But all that aside, what would the offense produce if we got all the recruits from above?

WHOAAA!!!! There nelly. Let's not get the cart before the horse. I too am vey positive about the season but we must remember these guys are learning their third offense in three years. The defense second in as many years. The sec may be a bit much this year, we still have the same personel as last year, maybe we"coach 'em up" I don't know. I think unrealistic expectations only sets us up for disappointment.

There WILL be growing pangs with this team...

With that said...anything is possible. Especially with us playing UF so early in the season...

Where is Altanta? Is it some town in Minnesota? Are we going to the Altanta Toilet Bowl in December?

I will first say that I have reserved comment on the hiring of Kiffin and the build of the coaching staff for the most part. I will now say that I my thoughts are the following:
1) Very impressed with the staff thus far
2) Very impressed with Kiffin's "go after it" attitude on all fronts
3) Kiffin is definitely not afraid to surround himself with talent(maybe to cover areas he knows he is weak). If so, this shows very good decision making
4) Undecided at this point as to his HC ability but he has set himself up with plenty of help
5) Star quality of the staff will definitely create inflated expectations too soon.
6) Success(by this I mean some type of championship) will come in years 2-3 and we better enjoy it because our staff will be hired away just like AL.

Just my opinions.

Haha, son... Slow your roll a bit. :lolabove:

Of course we have a chance, I just found it hilarious the way you put it... "get past Florida"

If we do find a way to win in the Swamp against Tebow, All 11 returning defensive starters, and don't punt it anywhere near Brandon James-- Then you SHOULD feel really good about our chances!

Because, we will have just beat the NUMBER ONE team in the nation in the Swamp.

I honestly see the over under at 7.5. any real production on offense will certainly have us playing top level football again. i do expect our defense to be top 5. Special teams has got to improve. but we definately could beat florida. not that we will but if things are clicking and we get some early momentum, it could be enough to upset the champs and set the tone for the rest of the year.

...target. I do not care if our coaches come for a few years and go (I don't think CLK will in 2 to 3 years). My father coached for years and one of his requirements (even in high school) was that his assistants wanted to be head coaches. He did not want someone working for him satisfied with his current position. If CLK has success (2010 and 2011) and we lose Orgeron or others, there will be plenty of hungry young coaches out there who want to come to Tennessee, have success then get their shot at a job. It doesn't seem to have hurt Carroll at USC. Winning begets winning, as long as the man in charge stays hungry, focused, and charged up.
