2008 Titans

F the steelers. good win. and F the terrible towels.

thank you for making ben look like the chump he really is.

great day for the Titans though I think they should come out and play to win next week vs. the Colts

I guess I can go ahead and eat some crow now. Last week I laughed at several people on here who said, even after the disaster in Houston, that the Titans would beat the Steelers. Well, maybe next time I'll have a little more faith. That homefield throughout the playoffs is going to be huge.

Hahaha, I love watching Bill Cowher cry his little heart out on TV right now over how Lendale was stomping on the terrible towel once it was iced. Love it! Go Titans, great game today!

Bill Cowher just went on a 2-minute rant about the Titans stomping on a Terrible Towel at the end of the game in which he said "As a rookie, that's something LenDale White shouldn't be doing." Did someone forget to send him the memo that White has been in the league for 3 years now?

I'm a Titan's fan - but the Steelers should be ashamed they lost this game... lol. Big Ben choked... he had all day to throw (and it showed when he wasn't being an idiot with his decision making) but still turned the ball over 4 times (lucky it wasn't more - never seen a QB fumble as much as him) by holding the ball way too long. The Titans were missing the best player and probably their 3rd or 4th best in KVB.

Major props to Jason Jones though - he had a few awesome flashes of talent in the preseason and early in the year - today he showed he will be big time soon enough. Nice game by Crumpler too - McCariens actually did decent except that one dropped 3rd down pass before the half.

Kind of interesting how Nantz and Simms didn't say anything else about Roethlisberger being an MVP candidate after the third or fourth fumble.

The knock on big ben is that he holds the ball to long. I tend to think the steelers receivers are just not that good. Neither is their offensive line.

Good win for us, locking down homefield was big. We probably see this team again in about a month.

I'm not sure about that. The Steelers are a good team, but right now, I think the Colts are playing better than anyone else in the AFC.

Won't we end up playing the Colts?

The Colts are the 5 seed... so they're going to play the Broncos more than likely... so they basically get an automatic advance to the 2nd round... that leaves the 3 seed (Jets or Dolphins) against the Ravens I'm guessing? That's a toss up but I think you give the edge to the 3 seed.

By rules - they send the lowest seed to the top seed.. which would be Colts (#5 - lowest left vs. highest #1 Titans)... and the Steelers would get the other team which is the higher seed (Miami or Jets)... so unless Baltimore upsets (if you want to call it an upset as the #6 seed) the #3 seed then we would get the Colts. I'm not 100% sure if that's how they do it but I believe they do.

So basically we would get screwed. Colts maybe the #5 seed but they're playing like the #1.

That will change when they play a team that gets pressure with their front four. Indy's defense is not very good against the run either. Indy's schedule of late has been weak also.

You're right, I didn't think the scenarios all the way through. It's looking like we'll be playing the Colts in back-to-back games. There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that the Colts are going to lose to the hopeless Broncos or Chargers, even it the game is on the road. Our only chance to avoid the matchup would be for the #6 seed to pull of an upset.

Since we are looking at back-to-back games against Indy, the Titans should plan on playing the first string next week to go ahead and get them as much game experience against them as possible.

Yeah. I'd looks like we have a good chance of getting the colts in the divisional round. And that sucks. Peyton is likely to take over a game like that.
