2008 Titans

I've always been of the opinion that the Lions would win at least a game this year, but after watching them play for a whole game... I'm kind of doubting it now, especially considering they play teams in the playoff hunt from here on out.

As much grief as we all gave the dolphins last year, this detroit team is much worse. At least they were starting to click/mold at the end of the season...this team looks nowhere near that, they look unorganized and just bad at this point

I was hoping the Colts would lose today so the Titans could go ahead and clinch....I havent heard anything yet but as far as home-field advantage the Titans will pretty much lock that up when the clinch division right?

Steelers have only 3 losses, so unless they lose in the next two weeks, the titans need 12-13 wins plus beating the steelers for home field...

So win 1-2 of the next games (Cleveland and houston) and beat the steelers as it stands right now...just beat the steelers

We can still clinch home field before we play the Steelers. If both the Colts and Steelers lose in the next two games and we win both, I think that clinches. Or us just winning out...

IDK... so confusing.

We need to win 3 of the next 4 to clinch the #1 seed. And we can lose to the Steelers. Or if the Steelers lose then we can lose the final two... more than likely we're going to be forced to beat either Indy or Steelers for the #1 seed.

If the steelers were to lose the next 2 games and the titans win the next 2 games. Then yes the titans get home field advanatge throughout the playoffs. If the titans win 2 more games they clinch the division. They could still clinch the division with a win over the browns and a colts loss.

There are a lot of things that could happen. If the jets were to lose to the dolphins or the bills. They could possibly be eliminated from the playoffs. If the steelers lose 2 they could be eliminated from the playoffs.
The broncos could clinch their divison with a win and a chargers loss.

The media's saying we could clinch the afc south with just getting to 12 wins next week. I think we already have indy beat in some other tiebreaker were it to come to us both ending 12-4 or something.

yeah, i just checked on it in some free time. If we beat the browns but lose out and both are 12-4, we'd finish 11-3 among common opponents and they'd finish 10-4, so we'd win by the 3rd tiebreaker.

Next week can clinch the division! :yahoo:

Hey guys. First time post here but have been reading for about a year. Just wanted to say that I have seen every single Titans game every since they changed the name in 99. This is by far the best they have looked since I started watching them. It looks like a magical season. I received a couple of Titans tickets for my birthday. I was very excited because it was going to be my first live Titans game, but unfortunate I have conflicts which will not let me attend. I have decided to sell my tickets so if anyone wants to check it out you can find them here:
Tennessee Titans vs Cleveland Browns Tickets 12/7/08... - eBay (item 290280199697 end time Dec-04-08 09:35:22 PST)

If that link does not work, it is ebay item number 290280199697.
Again I wish I could go, but will not be able to, but hopefully one of my fellow Titan fans can go and support the team for me! GO TITANS AND GO VOLS!!!

Should the Colts win out and Titans lose out, Colts host is one scenario or so a Colts fanatic was telling me at lunch.

Thanks to the Broncos for defeating the Jets, something we couldn't do.

Well yeah, that would have them at 12-4 and the titans at 11-5...but that would mean the titans would have to lose 4 straight to the combination of Ken-Dorsey-led Browns, the Texans, the Steelers, and then the Colts.

I honestly just think favre plays better when he's in a situation where he's not supposed to win or be successful...i.e. when he's playing the team that's everyone's favorite or when he's in the role to try and be the "giant-killer" -- he really seems to love that one.

Otherwise his play seems to kinda rollercoaster on it's own

Won't this be like Ken Dorsey's first start since 2004? There's no freaking way we can lose to the Browns with Dorsey at the helm...

We shouldnt, but I never go the no freakin way route :birgits_giggle: that's almost like asking for something to go wrong in football

That's pretty bold. I think I'd take the 1999 and 2000 teams over this one. The 2003 edition is in the discussion, too.

No kidding.

I remember thinking whoever won that playoff game between the Ravens and Titans would go on to win the Super Bowl.

Blah.

Exactly! same here.

I also remember my dad saying "good think del greco's already gone through his slump" before the game.....that started his notorious streak of him and bad outcomes for his sports predictions

ahh.. I didnt know about that 3rd tiebreaker. good to know. Nothing is certain in the nfl these days . I do think titans should beat the browns. Cleveland did beat the giants but I am thinking it was just a really off game for the giants.
