Just wanted to see what you all were thinking. It's rare when someone will just lay it out game-by-game for you.

I looked thru the first few pages and couldn't find a predictions page, so here is this one!:hi:

@UCLA W 31-10
UAB W 40-14
Florida L 21-30
@Auburn W 27-17
Northern Illinois W 44-10
@Georgia W 20-17
Mississippi State W 17-7
Alabama W 34-18
@South Carolina W 23-18
Wyoming W 37-7
@Vanderbilt W 24-13
Kentucky W 30-16

I see Florida losing 2 they shouldn't (Arkansas!, S. Carolina!)
I see Georgia losing 2 (Florida, Auburn)

Overall, here's how I would put the standings:

EAST
Tennessee 11-1 (7-1):rock:
Florida 10-2 (6-2):superman:
Georgia 8-4 (5-3) beats SC:eek:lol:
S. Carolina 9-3 (4-4):good!:
Vanderbilt 5-7 (2-6) :hi:
Kentucky 4-8 (1-7)

WEST
LSU 10-2 (6-2) :clapping:
Auburn 8-4 (5-3):dunno:
Ole Miss 7-5 (4-4) beats MSU:peace2:
MSU 7-5 (4-4):yes:
Alabama 6-6 (2-6):popcorn:
Arkansas 4-8 (2-6) loses last 7 games:banghead2:

Three losses minimum. Most likely lose to UF, UGA and AU. After last year, it's not hard to imagine a loss to Bama. SC could sneak up on the Vols. I don't think UCLA will be very good but anything can happen playing that far from home (see Cal last year). I have no idea what to make of Miss. State this time out but I know they will try to put it up the gut and play a physical game. The remainder of the schedule should be cakewalks.

Best case 10-2 by continued dominance over UGA or AU's new offense really stinking up the joint. Worst case 7-5, although I will LMAO if it winds up at 6-6 or worse in which case Hamilton will be gone.

The chances of me winning Saturday night's Powerball drawing are better than Tennessee's chances of winning at both Auburn and Georgia.

VolunteerHillbilly pretty much has it right except I can't see a best case scenario of 10-2. Don't forget, we still have Phil Fulmer as coach and that right there is a liability within close games.

I think Georgia will take us to the woodshed this year with Florida and Alabama. Auburn, could go either way but I like their chances slightly better. I'll say four losses and Homer Hamilton will give Fulmer another raise and the blind sheep will think the season a success because we beat Kentucky and Vandy.

Hard for me to imagine any better than 10-2. Also hard for me to imagine us beating florida, as much as that pains me to say. I think we'll take 'bama, but lose either at Georgia or Auburn, if not both. Good chance we'll slip up and lose a game we shouldn't, like SC, Miss St or UCLA.

I think 9-3 is a safe bet, with an exciting trip to the chicken bowl as our reward.

actually, i agree with most all of this, except i think we lose to GA and Auburn. i say 10-2 this year.

agreed.

are you high? a) thanks for the reminder of who our coach is and b) his calling card is pulling out close games.....allbeit against teams that shouldn't have always been close.....but winning close games, for better or worse, is what he does.

I would probably characterize it as a penchant for allowing games that shouldn't be close to turn into nailbiters, but I agree with the premise that Fulmer wins more close ones than he loses.

If UT goes 8-5 (not out of the question at all - losing to Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Bama, and a bowl loss, or maybe even a 5th regular season loss to South Carolina or MSU), Hamilton had better hope and pray that Pearl's boys run the table in the pre-conference SEC schedule, or else he'll be run out of town on a rail.

The absolute best-case scenario, I think, is 11-2, with an at-large BCS bid and a win in that game. That would require every break to go our way, and for the defensive line to gel quickly and play out of their minds.

Im not trying to troll, but you can honestly think that Georgia is gonna go 8-4 (5-3).

What's scary is that Saban seems to be doing the same thing at Bama as he did at LSU and MSU. He has vastly improved Bama's recruiting fortunes, got a "signature win" for the season against UTK and had a successful trip to a minor bowl game. Based on Saban's past history of program resurection, I would expect Bama to be 8-5 or 9-4 in 2008. By 2009 they will probably challenge for the West, and then by 2010 they will probably either be the dominant team in the West or locked in a serious competition for that slot with LSU similar to the UF-UT competition in the 1990s.

For what it's worth...I haven't done one of these since the spring game...

@UCLA W 35-13 (only because we'll be playin the 3rd string by late 3rd quarter)

UAB W 38-20 (see UCLA parentheses)

Florida L 41-31 (UF...and all of their fans...come in WAY overconfident after last year...and we bring a few surprises with our new O)

@Auburn W 23-31 (Just no way we can bring enough intensity after the UF game...it sucks that this game has to be here instead of after the NI game)

Northern Illinois W 47-10 (See UCLA/UAB parentheses)

@Georgia W 27-17 (UGA...already saddled with 2 losses...contiunes their downward spiral after coming into the season as odds on favorites for the NC...Moreno and Stafford continue to prove just how over-rated they really are)

Mississippi State W 31-7 (St. keeps it close for 2 1/2 quarters but their lack of offense is just too much to overcome as UT starts to pull away in the late 3rd)

Alabama W 49-18 (UT...motivated by an incredibly pissed off Phil Fulmer...never lets up...not even after its way out of reach)

@South Carolina W 20-18 (UT escapes Columbia by the skin of their teeth)

Wyoming W 41-10 (See UCLA/UAB/Northern Illinois parentheses)

@Vanderbilt W 34-13 (UT cruises in a tune up for the SECCG)

Kentucky W 31-17 (See Vandy parentheses)

SECCG...UT vs. Auburn W 34-24 (UT...rested and hitting on all cylinders...exacts revenge after being caught off guard during the regular season)

12-1...BCS national championship appearance against...you guessed it...THE OSU....

And...once again...the SEC speed is too much.... UT W 35-21

Granted...my expectations are a bit high....but I would rather expect alot and be disappointed than to expect bad and not be disappointed

This is possible.

In the metaphysical sense of the word.

yeah i remember hearing or reading that phil gave out cigars if they beat bama. Id like to be there again but when the game is over the whole stadium singing.'' we dont give a damned bout the whole state of alabama'' Phil does not take alabama loosely at all. He may be slack at times in some of your opinions but not with alabama.

Do you think Tennessee has a 10% chance at Georgia and a separate 10% chance at Auburn?
