I wouldn't think so. Teams occasionally end up in tournaments with teams already on their schedule. It's not that uncommon.

The rule limiting appearances was gutted as part of the settlement of a class action lawsuit filed by tournament organizers. The only restriction I'm aware of now is that you can only play in the same event once every four years. I'm not sure if UT is scheduled to play in a tournament this year. I know they're not going to Maui, Anchorage, or Orlando. Last year's appearance in the NIT also eliminates that tournament as a possibility.

Too many to count. They are really more accurately called exempt tournaments. Some of them are played in late December.
