Most would agree the current team is more talented than they were last year, but are they a better team. If they could play each other, who do you think would win, let's say the best out of three games, and on what do you base your opinion.

Does this really deserve a thread to itself?

This year's team would beat last years team by 20

Not to sure about that considering Lofton was good for about 30 last year whenever we needed it.

he may score thirty, but i am pretty sure T Smith would be good for 25 in the paint, and Chism this year > Chism last year.

Or he hasn't needed to because everything around him.

Would be surprised if this years team didn't win by 15.

That's from Will Ferrell's Harry Caray character and I think the quote is, would you rather be a top scientist in your field or get mad cow disease.

I need to go watch that video. I can't remember that part for some reason.

considering a common opponent, last year's team beat basically the same Texas team with Kevin Durant...certainly there is more talent but definitely less cohesion. I say last year's team scraps its way to a one point overtime victory.

Lofton would know how to guard himself, but would have no prayer of accomplishing the task

Lofton guarding himself .... I think both would get open looks on both ends of the court.

Subtract Dane, Tabb and Duke and add JP, Tyler and Williams ... could be close but this year's would pull away with a win in the last five minutes.

Big wins last year needed Lofton to always rise and put up 25+ points a game. Not needed this year. Everyone could have their turn at being the man on a given night. I think they will keep feeding the hot hand similar to the way they were feeding BW 2 games ago and JP last Sat.

more talented, yes 4 sure, but not sure about chemistry.....should be real strong come tournament time

We were still looking for identity about this time last year. We lost Major. Duke lost his starting role early in the season. Ramar was not very good, lost his starting job and then Howell broke his hand. Dane hurt his shoulder (didn't hurt his shot though).

This years team, easily. By the end of the year, definitely this years team. Last year UT won like 2 road games, and neither team was good.

There are some crazy ideas being thrown around in here, the only player who has regressed more this season than Chism is Ramar. Chism is not better than last year right now.

I would like to see some basis for that argument. His stats are just a little off from last year, but I just get the feeling he is asserting himself more. He seems to have more confidence, probably because he is surrounded by better players than last year.

he asserted himself like a 2nd grade girl on the boards vs. Xavier

The only sane post in this thread.
