I may be on my own on this, but i really think a lot of people around the nation may be dissappointed and shocked when they realize Darren Mcfadden is not going to have a heisman type season

hef the best safety in the nation? i would like to be a complete homer on this, i do think he's very good and will be an impact player for us, but best in the nation?

I agree to the extend that McFAdden will find people stacking the box with Arkansas' reduced passing attack with a new QB.

It's hard not to put Keenan Burton on that list, not that I'm a homer or anything.

"Without a doubt the best in the nation"...I dont know, but Hefney is definately in the top 3-5.

Agreed. He is pretty good but I think that is a bit of a stretch.

My thing is how can Cox be rated better the Ainge? Heck Woodson is better than Cox. Where is the WR Hall from Bammer, I hate him but he is good!:yuck:

Hefney a threat on special teams....is this guy for real? Not that Hef can't return a punt...but has he seen our special teams this decade :crazy:

i agree with the sentiment that as Cox goes so go the tigers, so in that sense, i don't disagree. if he sucks, so will they. if he can have a good year and not make mistakes, it will prevent them from losing games like they did last year, ie the GA game in which he sucked out loud.

Ainge doesn't have that pressure on him this year...our success/failure isn't solely on his shoulders as it is with Cox and Aubie.

the only thing accurate in this is the smilie. Hef was definitely a huge bright spot for our PR team last year. Ask SC and GA.

And yet, you da...er...darn well, that any failure to create first downs will be blamed on the QB...

As well as EA performed last season, he still has zero room for error in the court of public opinion. The good thing.... He's a senior and well up to the challenge of leading by producing....

i see what you are saying, but, and i guessi can only speak for myself here, i honestly don't think Ainge will have as good a year as he did last year, and the team can still be better than last year......

barring just pitiful play (poorly throw ball, lots of int's or fumbled snaps--2005 all over again), there will be plenty of other issues that could lead to a loss for us this year--youn wr's, young secondary, o line, st etc, etc, etc....

including the competition just being better than us on a given saturday......:thumbsup:

i was just wondering.....where is that Prothero (sp?) guy from bama that caught the ball on that defenders back? I know he broke his leg about 2 years ago...is he still in school? or is he gonna play this year?

Well, you're not the only person who's said that of course. I do disagree about the year he'll have though.

Before the ankle, all the fundamentals were finally in place for him. Those won't just disappear from a healthy senior who has had a, by all accounts, very productive offseason with Cutcliffe. The receivers/TEs will be sufficiently good to catch the ball and make first downs, even if we don't get to see some of those breakaways after the catch that Meach provided.

The line is a legitimate question mark. I think this bunch is ready to be a little more physical though.

The RBs are mostly all tool and no lumber for the moment. But youth that flashes brilliance tends to mature into consistent quality..

I see a team poised to perform well. But then about 65% of this great VolNation thinks I need glasses...
