IMO Cal, UGA, SC and KY will be toss ups and I figure a 50-50 split is a reasonable expectation under those circumstances.

So you've got us beating the defending national champs in a close one, but we are going to lose the opener to a team that we beat by 17 last year???

Yes, UF is without Leak and has lost alot to the pros and we have to fly to California to play a talented team. This is not an impossible scenario by any means. :dance2:

Some of those look about right, but that Championship Game would put me in a straight jacket.

There is not a single team that should beat us this season, especially not Cal. Doesn't mean it won't happen but 10-11 wins should be a minimum.

I don't think it's impossible. It's just that I can't believe a team that doesn't beat Cal is capable of beating Florida. The flight to Berkley will make things more difficult, but I don't think a 4 hour flight is worth 18 points.

Would you think a team that couldn't beat a down UGA team could beat the Gators (MNC champions) last year? Me either but it happened when Aurburn beat UF and lost to UGA, just saying nothing in college football ever works according to plan. :)

Have you seen all that Cal lost?

cal will be better than last season. of that i have no doubt. will we beat you? beats me. . .

edit: one corner position and the dline are the only questionmarks. every other position returns talent and experience.

sounds very familiar :)

Are you saying our backup might not get to play this time?

If you put the beatdown on Cal again this year, tedford should be fired. and i'm not even joking. One loss like that can be excused (I suppose), two are unacceptable (particurally at home) with that much talent. edit: we return 16 starters btw.

Heater from the contracostatimes has a breakdown of each position if you are interested: ContraCostaTimes BearTalk Weblog: Cal Sports

I can dream!
ha, apparently so can orange empire.......:)

as for the schedule......i say 9-3...and the three will come from any of the following: Cal, Florida, UGA, Bama, or SC.......we should beat the likes of Southern Miss, Ark St, VAndy, KY, MSU, ARK, ULL...and at lesat two of the 5 above...anything less than 9-3 with that schedule......ugh.

FL and GA should be the only teams that really have the horses to flat out beat us. we should be slightly ahead of Bama and USC and Cal.

but in the end, i think we will have a similar year as 06...still lots of holes to fill, some depth issues up front, and the defense as a whole is a question mark...offensively, i think the running game will be much better, the passing game could struggle compared to last year anyway....and don't forget we are replacing our kicker...s/t still hasn't been great the past couple of years...it was better last year, but not where it needs to be....
