Year in, year out- UT's opponents are much better than the three you listed above. NIU and USM both had bowls this year. Only Navy did out of your group.I fail to see how UT's schedule is any harder than ND's. Stanford, Navy, Air Force... way harder than the trio of Southern Miss, NIU, UCF. please.
Cal's losses to the draft will offset the change in scenery. Cal won't win 9 games next season.
Arkansas loses most of their OL, but Mustain improves, McFadden and Jones are back, but they should be a small bit worse than last season.
The only teams on the schedule that actually improve from 2006 are Georgia, Alabama, and Kentucky.
i won't even try to dispute that statement.
I'd rather you bring something to the table to convince me other wise.lol:
wow. southern miss, NIU, UCF, MSU, Vandy. I don't want to hear any more about ND's soft schedule. Almost half of the teams you guys play are TERRIBLE.
i could swear we were like a 2 1/2 pt or 3 pt favorite in that game????We were underdogs in 4 games last year and lost three. The Cal win was the only game we won as an underdog.
We were favorites in 9 games - 8 in the regular season. We were 8-0 in games we were favored on our schedule.
Next year we should be favored in all games except FL. I think we beat FL, and continue winning all other games we are favored in.
i agree. and there are only three really big games on the schedule next season...FL, GA and Bama. and we won't lose all three. SC and ARK are toss ups, and both are in Knoxville. that should give us a little advantage in both. both are games i'd think we should win at this point. ARK won't sneak up on anyone next season. SC will be better, but how much better????I think that we will lose 4-5 games. With the teams we play, not one of them is a for sure win. You never know who will show up on Saturday. Therefore, nothing warrants me stating otherwise. We still have the same HC if you have not noticed and the same asst coaches.
Cal-L
GA-won the last several games at Neyland, why not one more
FLA-L outcoached again, again, again (sick of it)
ALA-L outcoached Should have beat them bad at home and of course we manage to pull off a close one. They have talent needed a coach.
And for the 5th loss-either ARK or SC. take your pick.
UT has talent, but it takes coaching to win big games.
I hate stating this but after these last two years, they are going to have to step up to make me think they are back.
1 CAL away- W We play great first game of the season.
2. Southern Miss- W
3. Fla away- could be a W but tough L
4.Northern Illiniose- W
5.UCF- W
6.Georgia-W
7.Miss St. W
8.Bamma- even
9. S Car- even
10.Arky- L
11Vandy-W
12Kentucky-W
9-3 or 10-2
that's fair, though if i had to pick losses, i don't know that i'd say we'd lose to SC and FL and that's it? If we were to beat UGA and Bama and ARk, i'd say that losing to SC would be demoralizing at that point. IF we're good enough to win those games, we're plenty good enough to beat SC.1. California- I say we win this game. However, it will be alot closer than last year's contest. The loss of Lynch will hurt them.
2. Southern Miss- Win
3. Florida-Loss. We were hurt by Tebow last year and he was only in the game a handful of plays.
4. Northern Illinois-Win
5. UCF-Win
6.Georgia-Win. Should be a very good game. I look for the dawgs to keep it much tighter than they did last year, but Ut still comes out on a close one.
7. Miss. St.-Win
8. Bama- Win. A potential loss, but I'm going to mark it down as a victory because I think UT will have alot of momentum up to this point from winning their last 4 games. Saban will have his team ready. Another close one, but we come away with it.
9. South Carolina- Loss. This one is really hard to call. I think this is the year Spurrier starts turning some heads. I think he beats us in Knoxville.
10. Arkansas-Win. I think Arkansas will come into this game hyped by the media, which UT will feed off of, leading to a victory by ouy vols.
11. Vandy-Win
12. Kentucky-Win, although another close one. If there was a year Kentucky could beat us, this is it.
Record to expect: 10-2
I wouldn't have marked down a 10 win season if it wasn't for the much easier schedule we have this coming year. At worst, I see us losing 3 games. I think that the running game will be much improved. I just have a feeling. I'm much more worried about our passing game to be honest with you.
I'm going to go ahead and say Florida wins the SEC yet again, beating Arkansas again in a re-match of last year's championship.
not much. and that in and of itself is enough to make you question it, granted. It's Spurrier. What else can I say?
not much. and that in and of itself is enough to make you question it, granted.
but his 8-4 life time record not withstanding, CPF is 2-1 in the last three against him. 3-3 in the last 6. So if your into trends, the trend says that Fulmer has been much more competitive with Spurrier later in his career than he was early on. for whatever that's worth??? :dunno:
