I think for the most part it's fair, except for the fact that Bama is on there solely because of the Saban hire. Ordinarily that wouldn't bother me, but ESPN is contradicting it's unspoken policy in this ranking: LSU is low on the rankings not because of its head coach, but because of its loss of players; Conversely, Bama is in the rankings not because of its players, but because of its head coach. LSU is a little lower than I expected, but not unreasonably so. I haven't the foggiest idea why USC is over Florida, tho.

We had a shot to win every game last year for the most part and played good teams decent. With the right playcalling and coach we coul have won alot of those.

Yeah, no debate here. I suppose these rankings are nothing but fan-food right now anyway.

Hate to hijack the thread with non-vol related conversation, but I'm actually glad you guys picked up Saban. It forces us LSU fans to recognize Miles as THE head coach of the LSU football program, not just the replacement for Saban that many less-than-pleased fans have seen him as.

Not to mention, if the worst he does is win as many games as he loses against you guys under Saban for as long as Saban remains at Bama, Miles'll get the respect he deserves.

I dunno about CF. I used to think that nothing compared to it, until the Saints finally got on the map. :) Suddenly I've been following the NFL pretty close.

Thats a good point Atreus about forcing fans to forget about the past. I have always been a fan of LSU when we were not playing you guys. I hope you continue to be a powerhouse as I hope UT does and every SEC team to be honest. It would stink if one team just continually dominated, then the SEC would appear weak like every other conference.
