I think this game gets lost in the discussion sometimes. Granted, it was the Zook-era for Florida, but still a great win in the swamp led by the man made of ice.

Man, there is not a better tune than that cbs intro. I LOVE CBS games and love beating UF. the Iceman owned the gators.

At 46:20...

One of my all time favorite moments in Tenn history. Did we pay some sort of penance for that? Hopefully, it's expired if so.

Gosh, our offense looked marred in molasses for 29:56 of the first half. Got on track for the last half and mauled them on D. Loved watching J-train mangle people. Too bad he just faded away his final year.

Noon kickoffs in FL suck! It was so hot that day.

Yes it was. Always hot when we play there though.

Worse than the heat is all of the idiots wearing gator gear. I would be hard pressed to decide which fan base is dumber, gators or bammers. Both are loaded with idiots.

The CBS college football theme is the best in sports. Love the intro. Cue Gary and Verne suck.

IMO the 2003 Vols are one of the most underrated teams from the modern era. Yeah, the bowl game against Clemson stunk, but the regular season was pretty solid.

They lost to Auburn on the road and #8 UGA at home.

They beat UF, Bama, & #6 Miami on the road.

If they beat Auburn or UGA, they go to the SECCG with a rematch against LSU. I can't help but think a SR Clausen and Co. would have made sure to avenge the '01 loss. That would have put UT in the sugar against Oklahoma with a chance to split the title with USCw.

Woulda, coulda..

That team was a lot of fun, with a lot of heart. The exception being the UGA game, where they simply quit after the fumble before the half and then a tipped ball interception early in the second half. Probably top 3 worst Neyland experiences ever.

I was there as well. That was my first taste of the UGA fan bark. Ultra annoying. It's like those aliens from sesame street, but with barks.

The ice man...loved his confidence.

One of the top 3 QB's to ever wear orange, imo...

I don't view the '03 team that way. UF wasn't that good and that Bama team was horrible. The Miami win was great but that's about it for that team.

Two weeks later, Florida would lose to Ole Miss giving Florida its 4th home loss under Ron Zook in a year and a half. Spurrier had lost 5 home games in 12 years.

And so, fireronzook.com was born.

I thought fireronzook.com was created the day after he was hired... or so the legend goes.

Great user name!

Did he make it?

haha, thanks. I sometimes wonder how many ppl get what it refers to.

"Hurd....takes the handoff and plows his way into a thick pile of crimson........did he make it?.......................he made it."

I wish he could come back for one game. Like, maybe an undefeated vs undefeated for the 3rd Saturday in Oct? Wishful thinking.
