2001 Tennessee vs. Florida Highlights

I didn't check but, it looked Stephens had about 1200 yards rushing in that one game. I sure miss year after year stud RB's. Cobb, Webb, Thompson, Garner, Stewart, Hayden, Lewis, Stephens, Foster, etc.. Not forgetting FB's like Greg Amsler, Mose Phillips, etc.. There are certainly several more during Fulmer's reign.

ahhhh..........the good old days when Tennessee was smash mouth football and seeing Spurrier cry made my week even better. Such a simpler time.

I approve the return of this strategy.

Every time we have won against Florida we have been able to smash them in the face with the running game. The Oline had everything to do with this game.

I assume you would be the person to ask here in reference to the Oline. I didnt understand exactly what they were doing. When they engaged with the defensive guys they seemed to be shuffling up field and/or the defensive lineman would fall to the ground. Likewise, they stayed engaged with this player for well up into the 5,6 sometimes 8 second range. And when Iceman was throwing the ball I noticed several times the line created this, sort of, pocket (for lack of a better word) giving him time. All these things were legal back in the 90's and early 2000's?

Those were some gaping holes! Stephens showed great vision finding those holes as well!

The last time someone got pounded in Florida as bad as UF's defense did that day, Zach Smith was on Urban Meyer's staff.....

That hit at 3:53... We need more of that. Looked clean by today's standard too.

Edit: Just watched replay at 4:14.. maybe not clean lmao.

Maybe one day UT will have a dominant line on both sides of the ball. They still have a long way to go and even with the additon of 2 highly rated recruits, they'll be starting as freshmen and that's a tough assignment in this conference.

Biggest game in Florida Field history, the great Steve Spurrier was an 18 pt favorite over the Tennessee Volunteers and the Vols physically whipped them. It took two horrendous calls on Florida fumbles to even keep it close. The Vols made the ol' Ball Coach quit after that one.
