This was my daughter's first game. She was born the day before and I sat in the hospital room holding her in her UT onsie. She's watched every game with me since.

My wife went into labor with our oldest son exactly at the point of kick-off during the 2003 Titans Steelers playoff game. I caught the tail end of our 34 31 win in a Jackson General hospital room lol. He didn't decide to be born till the next damn afternoon lol.

A precursor. He's bound to find ways to add to the definition of "bad timing" for years to come. Well.....If he's anything like my kids.

I love listening to Sean McDonough. He called this one, and also the 98 UF game. "Collins Cooper...and the kick is...NO GOOD!!! TENNESSEE WINS!!!!!!"

Almost there again!

It was fun watching the Sunday replay of the 1998 Tennessee-Florida game on the Sunshine Network. Those guys were crying when Florida missed that overtime FG. :eek:lol:

Can't remember their black announcer but never gave Tennessee any credit for anything. He was the worst announcer I ever heard. He has worn too many orange and blue glasses. If they was any garbage announcer he is #1.

Most years we would have been the most talented team in the country, or at least close to, but even we with all of that talent couldn't really match them.

The 1986 sugar bowl featured Tennessee and a much more talented Miami team, and we saw how that turned out. It's not always about who has the most talent, that's why they play the game.

Witten burning the entire Michigan secondary. One of my best bowl game memories.

Kelley Washington ran right through them as well on a screen pass. Stallworth did em in too.

We had an even shot at Miami that year. They were not invincible, by any means. We had plenty of NFL guys on that team to line up against them.

Witten's speed at 1:12:35 is ridiculous. He out runs their entire secondary.

I remember the commentators had a "what the ÷=%_€ was that" moment right there. It was like JW was finally revealed as the freak athlete that he is. Unreal @ 260#.

And he was still the fourth TE in his draft...what's Bernie Jopru up to these days?

My daughter was born on New Year's day of 01. My wife went into labor right after kickoff of our game vs Kansas State. I've still never seen a replay of that game, and based on the outcome I didn't miss anything.

My wife is from MI (I know, I know, but she's lived in TN longer than up there) and my bro-in-law is a Wolverine alum.

What a sweet, sweet day that was!

Dear sweet baby Jesus that team was talented!!! Can't wait until we get back to our winning ways. Casey is my #2 guy behind Manning and never gets the credit he deserves and I'm not sure why.

I can't be the only person that thinks that the 2001 Vols were more loaded than 1998's group. Would've loved to have seen them go up against that Miami, arguably the greatest team of all time. Not saying we'd win but we would've given them a much better fight than Nebraska did.

I didn't think Ohio State stood a chance against them the next year either but they stunned the nation. You make a great argument though

Uh no, the the bogus PI in OT is what stunned the nation -- one of the worst calls in an NC game ever .

LSU loses their starting QB and their starting RB and Fulmer and Chavis still choke!
After that I was confident we was going to win. Worst feeling I had as a vol fan. After the LSU game we never had been elite team but hopefully this year and next we will be taking big steps getting back.

85 Canes weren't the greatest team to ever play college football, either.

Va Tech barely came up short against Miami that year. Lost by two points. That Miami team was great, but thinking we had no shot whatsoever is a bit overkill.
