Boy, that report lacked a whole lot of specifics.

American DOD contractors under fire in a "base" in Iraq, but able to hold the "jihadists" off and the US military won't help? Hmm. Suspect reporting is suspect.

The report says Balad Air Force base. I hope this guy is wrong but the report came out 30 minutes ago which maybe why specifics are lacking

The man behind the desk in the oval office?

I was hoping for a more legitimate, tactical reason (that I was originally missing).

I see no reason why he would order them to stand down. Using the US military to save 200 Americans isn't a political issue (pretty much supported by everybody). Then again, there is a lot of things he does that doesn't makes sense.

Hold up, this is a article originating from WND?

That website is a joke. As evidenced by their survival webstore and partisan hackery:

About the author of that article: Jerome Robert Corsi is an American author, political commentator and conspiracy theorist best known for his two New York Times bestselling books: The Obama Nation and Unfit for Command.

Yeah, WND bloggers don't scoop real journalists for stories like this. $10 bucks says there are no legs to this story.

I can't give you a tactical, logical or any other reason. Doesn't make sense to me especially when the Iraqi government has requested air support. It wouldn't be a violation of airspace or anything.

Most likely Obama's team hasn't figured out a way to use it to their advantage politically. Or their waiting until the situation is dire and they spin it as saving the day. Wouldn't put anything past them.
