2 Unexpected Games

I don't think a vol fan should ever expect to lose to scjr - one decent year followed by a pounding in the SEC title game doesnt make them an unbeatable program

wasn't this a 31-13 win just in 2009?
What about, erm, when they're considerably better ?

It's not like SC put a beating on us. We played them very close with our youngest team and there best ever. I expect to win here. This game can go in one we lose were expected to win. JMO.

I dont think USCe can win in Neyland. They've only done it once ever so its got to be in the back of their minds.

I would say the best shot at upseting somebody would be LSU. That's just a hunch really, but the psychology right. Put a little fear in them last year and could capitalize on that at Neyland.

I'm not sure how big an upset qualifies, but the biggest potentially would be Vandy and/or Kentucky. They're due. When it comes down to it Buffalo looks like the only cake walk. Even Montana could make it interesting for a while.

Win is Florida (UGA at home is a game we should win IMO)

I'm a homer so no L in a game we should win lol.

Losing to cincinnati would be more embarrassing than losing to ucla (08 or 09). I would love to see us beat lsu at home. I think we should beat georgia in neyland. Idk why, but I now have this thing in my mind that says georgia can't win in neyland stadium. I would absolutely love to beat florida or bama. I just don't think the alabama game will be close, but the game 2 years ago surprised me (and made me heartbroken). But the game I really want to win the most out of any game we have, is at florida. I'm tired of the losing streak we have against them. And of course alabama.

I think y'all will win an unexpected one versus Florida, and lose and unexpected one against either Kentucky or Vanderbilt, pards.

I've been trying to give you the benefit of the doubt when I read your posts, but that's just stupid, goob.

Well, I beg to differ, Ms. pard. Of y'all's contests, I see mostly expected wins and expected losses. As for the those of the unexpected variety, I don't think I was bein' all that unreasonable:

Montana - Expected Victory
Cincinnati - Expected Victory
Florida - Unexpected Victory
Buffalo - Expected Victory
Georgia - Expected Victory
LSU - Expected Loss
Alabama - Expected Loss
South Carolina - Expected Loss
Middle Tennessee - Expected Victory
Arkansas - Expected Victory
Vanderbilt - Maybe Unexpected Loss
Kentucky - Maybe Unexpected Loss

I wish I didn't have to select another unexpected loss for y'all, but those were the rules of the thread, Ms. pard.

I don't see UT picking up an unexpected loss. Cincinnatti's team is the only one of the OOC's that can compete, and Kentuckey and Vandy are the only expected SEC wins. Cincinnatti's defense is good in places, but I don't think they have corners that can cover Hunter and Rodgers. Their offense is un-impressive.

I think its a 50% chance we get 1 - 2 unexpected wins, and the 6 expected.

I do not agree at all that they are considerably better than they were last year - have the same back - lost their #2 receiver - QB can't stay sober

lost best pass rusher and defense was already shaky against the pass

re-watch that second half after the Bray interception and see how much better you think they were

a fluke year is all it was and they will come back down to earth hard - see SEC title game and bowl game - the will go back to being Lamecocks very soon

So just to summarize - you think we have a better shot at beating Georgia and Arkansas than we do of beating KY and Vandy

hmm...

The way I look at it isn't so simple, pard. I see the Georgia and Arkansas games as very close calls, so a win or a loss of those would not be unexpected. The opposite is true of the last two games which I see y'all as heavily favored. A loss of either would be unexpected in my opinion. Second, I object to your use of "and" when my unexpected loss clause was clearly disjunctive.

Win-Georgia or LSU
Lost-Vandy or Kentucky

Vandy is recruiting better, Kentucky is getting a better and the games are getting closer

sorry will vandy's better recruits be playing in this years game?
