Some love from Stallings:

You're right. "Love" was a bit much.

I just meant that he didn't have to go out of his way to say that his team couldn't have won those 2 games on the road. He gave the Vols some props there.

It's coachspeak motivation for his team, but I hope it galled him to his core to have to say it.

I found this earlier today, and was kind of weirded out by Stallings' comments. I agree with Papa, it must have killed him.

Stallings is not Mr. Personality, but he is one of the more forthright guys in his profession. I'm not surprised he would call it as he sees it.

Perhaps it was meant as motivation, but note he included Ole Miss, not just his squad. It sounds like he honestly believes they wouldn't have won those 2 games. I mean does anyone disagree with him?

Could be, but I'm not sure there are going to be many attractive openings. Stalllings is a midwesterner, so the Big 10 or Big XII would make sense for him. However, I'm not sure there will be a decent opening in either league.
