#2 Spurs v. #5 Grizz: Western Conference Finals

Placed on ignore list.

I'm actually cheering for the Grizz. However, the one team that can slow down the Grizz big men is the Spurs. It's going to be a series based on which team controls tempo and how well the Spurs rebound.

Also, Conley has taken a huge step since the Rudy Gay trade, but he's going to have to match Tony Parker's production this series. It'll be a tall task, but not impossible.

It's gonna be tough. Every one of their players is of high quality. Not a one of them that we can say that he is a joke or we can leave him open to double team another.

Also, this league is a 3 point shooting league now. The Grizz, while streaky, are inconsistent. The Spurs are consistently good at shooting the 3 ball. The Grizz have to stay to their strengths. Do not get caught in a fast pace shooting contest. Get it to Gasol/Randolph.

I think it goes 6 or 7 regardless of who wins. My gut (and heart) is saying Memphis.

We just simply outmatched them 2 years ago, and I believe this Grizzlies team is better than that one, mostly because of Conley, but also because of more experience and cohesiveness together. This team knows what they are and what they need to do to win. Meanwhile, the Spurs have aged an additional two years.

Having said that, I refuse to count out the Spurs. They just have that championship moxy to them, and it would be no surprise to anyone if they won this series. Conley vs. Parker will decide this thing IMO. Conley's proved to be a terrific defender and his offense has improved dramatically since the Rudy trade. He did a very good job on CP3 for the most part.

I'm saying Grizz in 6.

Wonderful matchup. Contrast in styles. In the end I'm going with best coach in basketball. Pop will scheme a way.

I initially had the Grizz going no mater who they played but I think the Spurs find a way.

Spurs in 6.

Duncan and Splitter are not going to outplay Randolph and Gasol. This isn't Andrew Bogut the Spurs are playing against. We will undoubtedly have the advantage in the paint on both ends of the court. We may not have a Stephen Curry or Klay Thompson shooting the ball, but we do have a Mike Conley who will defend the hell out of whoever he's on, in addition to scoring 15-20 points per contest, and a Tony Allen who will just quite simply go bat s**t crazy on whoever he guards....or in general, for that matter. Plus, he can explode for the occasional 10-12 points in a game.

I know ppl like to hate on our shooting, but with Conley, Pondexter, and Bayless in the mix, we can definitely find somebody to hit shots, and with the advantage we have on the inside, there is no reason we shouldn't be favored to win this thing. The only thing that keeps me from saying it's a sure win are those 4 old guys with multiple rings.

Good luck Grizz!

I would say that it will be important for the Spurs to win the first couple games at home, but the Grizzlies seem to be doing just fine after dropping Game 1 in each of the first two rounds.

A tall task? Maybe if the Spurs had a Tony Allen on their team that could guard Conley.
