Pretty good recruiter, definitely what he did “best”.

Dreadful at player development, PR, game management and setting the right tone and culture for the program. Never, ever seen a coach make as many excuses and run, no sprint, as far away from expectations of even modest winning as Lyle did.

Thank GOD he’s gone as we never even would’ve gotten a sniff from JJ Peterson had we not fired his arse and gotten CJP in here.

It was time for Butch to move on. But, I believe he left the program in better shape than when he arrived. CJP has something to build on. And, boy, does it look like he is building! All of this despite Curry’s dumpster fire!

WAit.... your telling me that idiot that’s out coaching the bammers right now has a top 15 class and he’s not done yet?

I was told that Pruitt still coaching for bama and upholding his promise to those kids was terrible and was gonna kill our program??? You morons know who you are.

Good post. I gave you a like, but are you sure JJ hasn't been accounted for.

Gave you a like -- this is gold Jerry gold.

You, me, any rational human would give a lot of weight and credibility to recruiting rankings among new hires. It's not the only thing that matters -- but it is important as HeXX if you hope to compete in the SEC or rebuild a program.

Very nice.
This is what I like to see and what it will take to be competitive with the elite programs in the long run.
We need to beat out teams like bama and Georgia for these players.
I am very impressed with Pruitt’s recruiting ability so far.
Now, coach them up.

As I see it, it doesn't look like it's going to get any easier in the SEC with Smart at UGA, Mustramp at SC, Mullen at UF, JIMBO at A & M, Morris at AR, & Pruitt at TN. I forget who Miss St & Ole Miss got but looks like the competition SEC-wide is only getting stronger.

Pruitt can offer these kids instant playing time...kids who want to compete cant turn it down...
This is what all kids with drive want....and the opportunity is there for their taking...
2018 is going to be a lot of fun and some surprise wins along the way hopefully...
When our current players see these 4* players committing it is a throw down to them all...
They will improve or have to move along...
To me the anticipation is warranted this time around...and we already are a better team because of it..
Book it Dano...

I think this is really a feather in Pruitt's coonskin cap. He is a difference maker on the recruiting trail, no doubt about it.

Can we get him to wear a coonskin cap as he leads the charge out of the Power T?

Huge get. I can't believe I'm typing this, but if this kid isn't a starter the day he steps foot on campus, I'll be shocked.

Really? How about Al Wilson or Leonard Little, Kevin Burnett, Kevin Simon and Jerod Mayo to name a few?

Good grief!

:thud:

You are correct. I don't know how in the Hell I forgot about Al Wilson.....I guess it was the excitement of Peterson committing. I will agree Al Wilson was a "heat seeking missile" meaning an absolute game changer..... like he was in the 98 Florida game. This is what (according to the commentor) Peterson is, an absolute game changer.

The others you mentioned were good but not in the category of Wilson. Actually, I would put Thompson and Westmoreland in front of Burnett, Simon, and Mayo (although Mayo did excel in the NFL). I consider Little a DE not linebacker.

I think we simply have a little different definition of "heat seeking missile."
