We will sign 2 QB's this signing class.......Because of all the WR commits of late, it makes sense that we already have 1 of them secured.......

I believe Cameron Newton is a silent commit, they are keeping it quiet to get another QB interested, same as how they didn't say much about Lamaison either......

So, in all probability, we will have Newton, and either Bray, Munchie, or Brunetti as the other QB.......
That's the reason why all these WR's are flocking to us......

I think Newton is ours if we want him. We are in a wait and see mode, depending on how he looks in JC. I think we sign 2 regardless. We get a top rated guy and a project athlete type.

Ahhh yes......that could be, but I have a feeling that Newton is a done deal......I didn't even know what was up with Lamaisson for the past 2 months.......this staff is very good at being quiet with QB's

There has to be a silent out there right now. No other reason all these big time WRs are going out and committing.

If the staff wants Munchie they are going to need to put the press on him in the next few weeks or its over.

As I understand, we haven't evaluated Cam yet, and can't really pursue him much because it would be tampering, similar to what happened with Marve.

Silent commits don't make since at this point dude.

i agree with Hulk. we obviously didn't get any of the QB's we really wanted, or at least not "yet." a silent commit now, what with all the other offensive recruits out there, just doesn't add up to me. just my opinion, could be wrong, and wouldn't be the first time.

Our coaching staff consists of the greatest recruiters in all of college football. That's why we've got these wideouts. Lamaison was waiting until he got totally complete with his last semester of school to make an announcement. There is only one qb that kinda makes sense for him to be a silent commit right now and that would be a stretch. If you were a high profile hs qb and lived less than 30 minutes away from a dominant football school, wouldn't it be easier on your sr year to remain committed to the home school even if you planned to go somewhere else? NOT SAYING THATS WHATS UP.....but it's the only "silent" that could make any sense at the far stretch of the imagination.

I"d say given the latest WR commits, we can take the wait and see approach as apparently we can get the skill players without securing a top QB at this point.

I still think something could shake out from USC. They are just too deep at QB to keep all those players happy and Kiffin is buddies with Carrol and UT being in the SEC is not the threat that a PAC 10 school would be.

Wouldn't be surprised if one of those USC guys transfers to UT.

The O is shaping up, especially with all these receiver's giving a verbal...I suspect some may well be waiting to see which QB follows....if we don't land a gem, or produce one from the current stockpile, then some of these guys may move on.

From a QB recruit situation, the Vols are looking more like a dream situation, and it just gets better with time. I feel it, Lane will get his guy and one that fits the mold he has in mind....there is going to be a 4-5 star coming to UT.

The more I think about it them more on of thos USC players transfering would make sense given we'll be running a pretty similar offense as USC which would mean the transition to our offense would be real smooth.

Pure speculation, but wouldn't shock me.

What if it is a QB transferring from USC? What are the rules concerning that exchange? Obviously, Lane can't recruit athletes already enrolled at another school. Can Carroll and Kiffin work out a transfer for a QB not starting for USC?

Some guy over on GVX says he knows who the big fish QB is. His only clue was it was way above Hendrix or Rettig. Then someone else posted to go out tonight and look up and you will fond the anwser. Could it be Star Jackson from Alabama? They did just offer Tyler Sheave

Scroggins and Brunetti :crossfingers:
I wouldn't want Scroggins at this point...I hope Barkley keeps his fanny cemented to the bench for 4 full years, for pulling the little stunt he did.

He admitted to an interviewer in LA that he told Carroll 3 weeks before he announced that he was committing to USC. During that time, we lost out on Rettig and Rees.
If he had just announced then, or let our staff know, then Rettig would very likely be committed to us right now...and we'd be talking about who the 2nd one is going to be.

Scroggins is a litte punk....yeah I said that.

Agreed.....I think he'll be a bust anyway, attitude problem is not good for a QB.......

It is what is. It is very difficult to get a kid to leave his family behind and move across the country to play ball. If he does not want be in Knoxville then he needs to stay in Cal. Best of luck to him.
