it was only an appetizer and was returned to the kitchen for being very, very undercooked and prematurely served..
And, it wasnt premature, you just like ignoring the situation, and act like qb is our biggest issue. You are a hack, that will continue to be nega until Pruitt's teams finally shut you up, and then you will act like you stood by the Vols the whole time. I wish people like you would just disappear like good little roaches until the lights turn off again.

Maybe Coach P had to show how successful the Vols would be at recruiting for 2019 to push an OC candidate into saying "YES"??? In other words what else am I (OC) going to have to work with???????????????

You had to recruit players to recruit an OC. Not hire an OC first then recruit players. Why would an OC want to come to a team ranked 110 in 2018????
Which comes first?? The chicken or the egg????

Why is everyone so high on Sark?

If he failed in Atlanta with the Falcons then would that failure carry over?

Can he recruit really well?

Does he even want to put in all the work recruiting after the NFL?

I don't know enough specifics about Sark one way or the other and that's why I'm asking for more info here?

VFL...GBO!!!

There is recruiting in the NFL? I thought the big factor was money, selecting in the draft and trading or picking up releases..

Saban failed as a HC in the NFL and look at him now... Point is not everyone is cut out for the NFL and that goes for college coaches

5-7. ..Yeah..

I get this feeling that the Vols could get a new crossfit gym membership, begin drinking a lot, and working more "late nights" (even though they dont actually have a job ) and you'd still think everything was fine. Then a 4-8 record happens and you can't figure out how it got this bad...but after a lot of counseling 5-7 makes you think things are improving for the better and that maybe, just maybe, if you put a 5* or two in the Vols everything will be just like the first time you and the Vols went 13-0.

I get this feeling, that you like to be intellectually dishonest and act like there was zero improvement, you act like there wasnt a culture problem( no coach can change in less than a year), you act like there wasnt obvious issues with player confidence and lack of development from the previous staff
Just because you fail to look at all variables as to why the TEAM finished where they did, and ignorantly act like you know where the shortcomings lay. Again I'll say it very simple, either you are ignorant to all of the factors that lead to success in a TEAM environment and really shouldn't be talking out of ignorance, or you are being intellectually dishonest just to push and advocate for the scenario that best fits your brand of mental gymnastics.

Which comes first?? The chicken or the egg????

Answer lies deep in thousands of years of evolution. Many would say the chicken though, as it initially begins as a zygote before the egg is fully produced. This would have been born by a protochicken.

If the names make sense it means Tennessee has no interest in them.

The OC will be a hire from within promotion that will be a morning post coffee splash hire.
I highly doubt that....CP is smart enough to know that this hire could make or break him as the hfc at Tennessee. It could also be detrimental to all his successful recruiting efforts.

If it was Friend it would have been announced by now. If he needed to move Friend around to bring in an OC and "his guy" that would have been done by now as well.

The words he chose in his latest presser were poor and he realizes that as well...and he will learn from that as well. Part of me believes he said it in frustration as they just wrapped up a extremely exhausting recruiting effort and all the media wants to talk about is the OC position.
Yes it was a warranted question...yes he should have been prepared for it and yes it was a bad answer. Part of me also believes he phrased his answer the same way a parent would tell their kids they weren't getting dessert before dinner...something like...."you're not getting dessert before you eat...shut up and move on".

I think he’s the experienced play caller that Pruitt has been looking for on offense. He would be a homerun hire imho.

After the lame duck effort by Houston today I am certainly not impressed with Briles. FSU is hiring him and I think we will be happy they did instead of us. CJP has a plan and it starts with recruiting and developing players. Whom ever he decides to hire will have an ample opportunity to prove us wrong.

Are you suggesting an active coach on the Michigan staff is telling recruits he is going to Tennessee and the recruits are flipping to Tennessee and this coach is still actually employed by Michigan?
Santa, all I want for Christmas is this to be true.

Hart gave us Barnes though. I’d say he redeemed himself mostly.
Agree somewhat. Texas actually gave us Barnes. Their athletic department tried to impose their will on him and it led to his departure. Timing just happened to be perfect for Hart and Barnes. Almost a no brainer on Hart’s part, but will acknowledge a good hire for him. I’ll bet Texas basketball fans wish they had him back. Lots of moons lined up here.

Says the guy that defends a mediocre QB as if he was the second coming.

Yes, and from what I understand when Hart saw the opportunity to hire Barnes he expedited the Tyndall departure in order to bring Barnes in. A real historian will know the exact timing but Hart really did have our best interests in mind.

here's how it is supposed to work. a successful championship coach can get the best assistants he wants, not settle for 2nd and 3rd best. IMO the OC that Pruitt gets will define his coaching tenure at UT and will probably directly impact how long he will be here.

I'm not Sark or bust by any means but every single thing in his college resume', points to nothing but great offensive production.

Huge gains in offense at both Washington and USC when he took over, and drop off in production, when he left.
Seems most posters have their list and will tear down anyone not on it. So I'm sure the Falcons will be mentioned but that is pure silliness.
In this case, Spurrier and Saban are perfect examples of why you should never consider an NFL stint.

Wouldn't worry about recruiting. It's common to have coordinators that don't spend as much time on that. HC and position coaches are mentioned by recruits more often.
