Peyton said he will not coach but I don't believe him...

Peyton has been extremely consistent on this issue. What he has said over and over is that when he retires he would like to work with young high school age quarterbacks and help them develope but not as a coach. Peyton Manning doesn't just doesn't want to be a coach. I'm sure he will be around to help Tennessee in every legal way possible but he will not be coaching here or anywhere else.

Yeah, this. How do you not know how to spell the best Vol of all time’s first name? I’m sure you like Tennessee, but that might be worth a being banned. Sheesh that’s embarrassing.

Best? O yea personal achievements and individual talent is so much better than brass and winning hardware as a team.

If you hadn't heard, Saban and Hart talk daily. Saban told Hart to hire Sal and Kirby Smart to turn down Ole Miss because the Tennessee job will be open next year. Saban is a UT fan and wants to help them return to prominence. Look for the Saban to offer his assistants to fill out the staff.

Wow thats very nice of Saban!! lol

Why would Peyton want to start coaching now, even if he has to retire? Why subject himself to all the stuff coaches have to put up with (like being second guessed by all the VN idiots)?

You're talking about the greatest UT Volunteer ever to put on the pads. How could you possibly not know how to at least spell his name correctly?

i'm just asking is there any worthy news on the potential candidates for the next 2 hires. jusg asking not trying to get bashed or smashed on volnation.:)

Derrick Ansley at UCF is the leading candidate for the DB coach. I haven't seen a list for the TE/ST candidate yet.

Any idea on Ansley's recruiting ability?

don't know anything about him. I'm not saying he is certain but it sure looks like he has a great chance to be the guy.. I've not heard a decision has been made..

read his bio. he has zero recruiting history. only been a D-1 coach since December so he has about 5-6 weeks experience at recruiting..

First off I never said or misspelled his name. Second, I don't associate personal records out the a$$ as being great. I'm gonna catch hell but I could care less how many personal records and mvps he wins. End of the day I want Tom Brady a my qb in the league. Idrather have a guy who wins multiple championships, doesn't place importance on his personal accolades. For someone do great and awesome, he really put UT on the spot for championships. He has an unbelievable talent and I believe that but I just think he is overhyped. Y'all say he was screwed in the Heisman. Personal accolade. I say his performance screwed us vs Nebraska. Team winning a title.

Any chance we get a TE coach and DB coach that split the ST job between them?

I doubt it. If Ansley is hired, he has xero ST experience. I think ST will be the hire or someone who does TE will have a strong ST background. that is how he has been looking at it

Peyton's team was 2-14 without him. He has a Superbowl ring which is the greatest "team" achievement in football. Brady's team won 10 games the year he was out. Peyton has carried that team and they have won a ton of games with him leading them. He lead his team to a Superbowl with Caldwell coaching for God's sake.
