@HowardBeckNYT: Baron Davis' knee injury much worse than thought: partial tear of patella tendon, complete tears of ACL and MCL. 12 month recovery
That sucks. Guessing that does it for his career.
Also, thanks for ruling out Indy
Honestly, how many Pacers games have you seen them play prior to the playoffs? I watched like 60 of their 66 games and just about all of them I had to watch online. Not trying to be condescending but I'm guessing most fans have never watched that's why fans are ruling them out. You hear guys like Barkley and Kenny on TNT talking about how the Pacers will not only challenge Miami but could beat them.
Miami blew them out the first two times but the third time, they beat the Pacers by 2 in OT and the 4th time the Pacers beat them by 15. Personally, the regular season means nothing to me when come playoff time but I have to believe those are about the only Pacers games Heat fans have watched and the rest of the fans might not have watched them play at all this season. Granger and especially West are playing at a different level than they were earlier in the season and George Hill has been playing better as he took over as a starter like 12 games ago.

Everyone is hyping the Celtics for the great run they put on starting March 19th when they went 10-3 and finished 15-6 in that span(Heat didn't play their starters in one of those wins). The Pacers starting March 20th went on 15-4 run and finished 16-6(They didn't play their starters in their loss to the Bulls, the Bulls did).
Sorry but it's really crazy that everyone believes the Celtics can challenge the Heat but don't believe the Pacers can. Not really sure why that is but I really think most of the people saying it didn't watch them at all this season. Really, they're just hanging their hat on the Heat beating them 3-1 during the regular season and losing game one to Orlando imo. I've said it before but I'll say it again, the Pacers have beat 13 of the NBA's 16 teams with a winning record. That includes the Thunder, Lakers, Bulls, Heat, Clippers, Celtics, Magic, Hawks, Mavs, Jazz, Sixers and Knicks. That's 12 of the 15 playoff teams.
Oh well, Pacers thrive as the underdog. They play down to lower opponents and play up to the top opponents. The only teams that had better records were the Bulls, Spurs, Thunder and Heat, and people still write the Pacers off. I can't wait for round 2 so people can actually see the Pacers for once rather than assume they're not that good without ever seeing them play. Even if they get swept, at least they'll finally get to be on national television. They might have been like four times this season.
