Sad but true, Forward Progress Calls cost us the Ole Miss Game and the Music City Bowl.

One time the ref ate the Whistle and the other was blown after the Score.

Both Reviews revealed TDs for Tennessee

One signaled TD and trailed the play called TD the other stepped in before the Ball reached the line and Forward Progress was stopped

Both Reviews overruled by Refs With the Forward Progress stopped

Aint that some Crap. Sucks

The SEC refs for the Ole Miss Game were the ones that could not count Downs in the Auburn and Penn State game or they were the crew that in the Memphis Game where fair catch called and the kid ran it into the End Zone.

I think we should prescribe ADD Meds to them. May Help But today I saw Refs looking in the opposite direction of the play. I had to rewatch the game just to see what I thought I saw.....OH Well...Hard pill to swallow. Same line judge that called the PIs on the sidelines against Burnell missed the Tillman jersey grab because he was looking in the opposite direction. Watch the replay.

BS calls that happen dozens of times in every game and never called unless the Vols are involved. How many times do players push the pile to pickup extra yardage? All the time. Cost us two wins. In my mind we won 9 games - I don’t care what the record says.

Whoever calls forward progress at the goal line on 4th and 1 should be executed. It was in OT too. Let it play out.
NCAA Football 2013 and 2014 Rules and Interpretations Rule 9, Section 3, Article 2-b (Page FR-96 or 98/216 on my reader) states:
The ball carrier shall not grasp a teammate; and no other player of his team
shall grasp, pull, or lift him to assist him in forward progress.

A p*ss poor spot on a Hendon Hooker run cost us a chance at the Pitt game too.

It doesn’t matter if that’s the rule since they didn’t throw a flag. They said forward progress was stopped and the runner was down.

People that keep posting this are annoying me to death. Ok, that’s the rule, then throw the flag. That means it would have been 4th and goal from the 6 rather than a turnover on downs. Posting this rule doesn’t help the “his forward progress was stopped” argument at all.

The rb's are too small for short yardage stuff.. Need a bigger body there. Oline wasn't getting much push all night either. Purdue won the LOS on both sides of the ball.

Exactly, just ask Tillman about the play at the end of regulation when his shirt was being pulled yet no flag thrown.

If the play is dead - BLOW THE WHISTLE
If there is a penalty - THROW A FLAG

It’s LITERALLY the ONLY job you they have.

After the Ole Miss game and the fine handed to UT, I expected a fan to draft a memo to the SEC from volnation with a fine for the bad calls. I think you could do it now and add the ACC for their refs and the Music City Bowl.

Agree to a point

If they'd thrown the flag then Purdue would have refused the penalty and it reverts back to the play which was called a stop for forward progress

Yea but both of those events couldn’t exist at the same time. He was either stopped or he wasn’t, if he was stopped there is no assisting the runner possible. Assisting the runner is a live ball foul.
