2 for 1? Blackburn & Fulmer?

If Blackburn is the AD, wouldn't he be the one to hire Fulmer? I think you hire Blackburn, discuss the idea with him and if it's something he wants, you let HIM make the hire. You don't bring somebody on and say "you have to have this guy as a member of your support staff."

I couldn't see Blackburn doing it. He's basically taking a lesser position to someone with no one experience running an athletic department. If anything Blackburn should be AD with Fulmer fulfilling some role to help him.

The latter is what Hyams was just saying. He also statedthat the University with its search committee and the possible hiring of a search firm will keep this from happening quickly. University spends all this money and then quickly fills the position would make the university look foolish.

mandatory retirement at 70 ? if he does retire at 70,
why spend all this time and money for 3 year AD. Tennessee needs AD who will be long term like Doug

But when you're trying to follow a storyline or recall info posted previously, it's much easier with fewer threads.

I'd be for it if Blackburn is OK with it. The AD should get to choose his staff and structure just like a coach should.

I can agree with that. However, I see no reason to replace 1 man with 2. Program would be better off hiring a press agent for the team.
