2 depressing stats

Yes our sack totals suck, it's not the type of QB we've played, look at the amount of sacks these 3 teams have given up in their other 2 games! Our D is bad right now. CBJ said he hired Shoop to solve our issues and it would be a seamless transition because the schemes were pretty close, I'm not sure what close means anymore by the way our D is struggling with this scheme.

UT is 4th in the SEC in total defense......

If this is struggling then the future looks great!

When we blitz the other team has picked it up ease and usually led to easy pass completions down field. Yesterday we were able to get some pressure on their QB at times and rush him make a bad throw / throw it away. So even if we didn't get the sack, it was a good play.

While Jancek seemed to have a better game plan going in, Shoop is light years ahead in making in-game adjustments and that my friends is why we are 3-0..

I would not worry too much if I were you guys.

The first three teams we played had duel threat quarterbacks and primarily focused on running the ball. And most of the time when they did throw, it was quick passes to their first receivers. So we haven't really had the opportunity to pin our ears back and go after a stationary quarterback attempting to scan the field.

I think once we play a pro style offense. We will get a better feel for our defense. So far we have a played a lot of gimmicky offenses in comparison to the ones we are going to play with Florida and Georgia coming up.

From Doug Mathews this morning:
1. UT has 1 INT on 97 opponent pass attempts; and,
2. UT has 3 sacks for -15 yards in 3 games.

That sack stat is incredible. I realize App. St.'s offense didn't allow for a lot of sacks, but 3 through 3 games is incredibly bad. We've got to get significant pressure on the QB this Saturday to have any chance with our banged up LBs and secondary.

I am surprised by the three sacks stat. Yesterday I was sure UT had ZERO for the year. Guess Shoop is waiting to dial up some sack lunches for Florida...

Three guesses on which team is leading the nation with 16 sacks.

Hint....they will be in Knoxville next week.

Now THAT, my friends, is a depressing stat.

Dobbs is as mobile as any QB in the country and nobody's having any problem getting to him and knocking his d!@k in the dirt.

He has what my high school coach called a "look out" line. They turn around and yell look out.

Stats and rankings can tell a story

For example: 2 inspiring stats

Against FBS teams with a winning record our scoring defense is ranked #17 nationally while Florida's defense is ranked below #104 (they haven't played any winners yet)

Against FBS teams with a winning record our scoring offense is ranked #6 nationally, while Florida's scoring offense is ranked below #103 (they haven't played any winners yet)

Hey, what can I say, I'm not good with depression. :)
