If this is already a thread then someone inform me, but what do you all think our 2 deep is looking like with who we'll have back and who have committed so far (mostly referring to Gray, Gaddy and Crosby; and taking into consideration Hurd, Kamara and Barnett will most likely leave early and Dobbs, Weisman, Croom, Latroy Lewis, Vereen, Bynum, Foreman and Sutton will be out of eligibility). Not looking for a debate on what other juniors might declare like Malone or Martin, just curious your thoughts on what a 2 deep will look like. Fire away.

Way too early, was just bored. Thinking about it provides some optimism though if you ask me.

I'm also not seeing Berry get the start, but that's your 2 deep... If the coaches and players can win the East this year, no Dobbs Hurd or Kamara isn't going to kill them with JG or Dormady leading the way.

Edit: If Richmond is the real deal, the OL will be extremely good next season.

Disregard all after bonjour; didn't notice until too late that this thread is about 2017. :)

He missed his first year in 2012 because of injury. He missed all of last year with injury. If he wants, he can apply for a sixth year and based on precedent he will probably get it

Thanks for the info! Do you think Picou and Crosby will win a 2nd string spot instead of Vickers? Would be his last year with the program. Looking at some recent video of Gaddy, I think he could be an impact next year.

I believe that's a pretty well thought out & predicted 2-deep depth chart for 2017. Only thing that could happen is if our 2016 doesn't go as good as planned we might see some players leave the program.

Nobody likes to see players leave but it happens with all programs. Very nice post & looks pretty accurate to me for 2017 as of what we have right now & already signed for 2017 thus far. :good!:

I doubt Croom sticks around, I think the staff knew that when we signed two TE's in our class last year

Is Andrew Butcher trending bust?

Now, why wouldn't Croom stick around? He''s been through heck with injuries. He's healthy now & on a championship contending team being the backup TE or in some cases with a double-set TE being a starting TE. He's going nowhere!

There hasn't been any talk about Butcher other than the fact that he'll be cleared medically sometime mid August. Definitely isn't a bust since he redshirted last year and hasn't played a down yet.

Good list but I would make 2 changes.

(1) Venzell Boulware ahead of Charles Moseley.

- I don't think Moseley is in our long terms plans. The guy just doesn't move well enough. Boulware also has a much heigher ceiling.

(2) Brandon Johnson ahead of Jeff George.

- I see George as just as goaline/jump ball receiver for us. I think every where else on the field Johnson will be ahead of him on the depth chart.

Same reason Curt Maggitt didn't pursue a 6th year. At some point you just move on.

Fair point, but Maggitt had already shown his value (hence why he's with the Colts in training camp) in the 2014 season before he got hurt again last year. Same thing with Marquez North in his freshman season (on the practice squad with the Rams). Croom has zero yards receiving, zero TDs and has shown zero value so far at TE. If that's the position he's trying to play in the NFL he's going to need more than one season as a 2nd string TE. Or maybe he'll surprise us. I'm hoping for the latter.
