$2,000,000 worth of scrutiny

I didn't find the comments by our AD to be whining. I did find his comments to be bit humerous. You seem to be making a mountain out of a molehill, IMO.
Again, maybe I just think that being one of the top five highest compensated people in your profession means you’re held to a higher standard. It’s a shame you don’t feel the same way. If we had one of the top 5 highest paid coaches in the country I’m sure you would expect results equivalent to the pay, right? Why is this any different?

Of course, but again, tell me one SEC football head coach hire that has not leaked. Just one. When the A.D. says the fans have failed at his second press conference then he’s just completely tone deaf to what we’ve been through for the last 20 years. And back to my original point, if he was making four or $500,000 a year I probably would not hold him to this high of a standard. But, he literally is one of the top five highest paid athletic directors in the entire country.
I don't believe I quoted you.

Because our world does not hold people accountable. To whom much is given, much as required. For a brand new athletic director to stand up at his second press conference and belittle the fans, tell fans they have failed, and act like a spoiled brat is just overall tone deaf. I expect more from one of the top five highest paid athletic directors in the entire country.
You do realize that the narrative you just explained can be reversed right? What if he was holding the fan accountable and not the other way around?.

Unfortunately, I completely disagree. Without fans supporting our program, our brand, that nice fat little comfortable pocketbook they all keep dipping into, and everything that he gets to enjoy as an athletic director....is gone. If you don’t think the fans are the customer, his customer, you need to wake up.

Here is the point:

He can bug the biggest douche ever and have winning programs under him and raise tons of money and he will be here forever.

He can also be the nicest guy in the world and even call you at night and ask how you are doing and if the programs suck he is gone.

Your feelings aren't the metric.

Wins, losses, money is his metruc.

This is judged by the school, not us.

The fans that are PAYING!? Your concept only works if the fans are getting paid OR compensated by a good quality product. (Which, clearly, we are not)

It didn’t strike me as a whine. To me, it was more like “if you figured out from the outside, It’ll be harder next time, but if it came from the inside, I’m going to find you and fire you.”

And I bet they are delicious. I also assume that if you started getting paid $2 million a year to do your job that people would probably hold you to a higher standard, right? I don’t know about you, but I sure would like to find out!

The school does.

We don't matter.

If we did we would be in the loop.

We aren't

Where does the money come from? Tell me again who has the power. IF Fans stop caring then the well dries up. He better care about the fans or he won’t have ANYTHING at UT, even treacherous leaks, to complain about. Not that he cares...he doesn’t even need to work. Entitled people act entitled.

Not too sure you paid the entire $2,000,000.....so not too sure he has to do exactly what you want.

I mean we all pay something......that should give us reason to complain. However not sure it means you or I get “our” way.

Some folks want this steak medium, some want it well done, I’d like mine medium rare...........it’s only 1 steak.......it ain’t Burger King.......you don’t necessarily get to have it “your way.”

However feel free to complain.

I reckon so.... but im already held to a high standard. $2 million would be overpaying me. Kinda like these athletes that get paid millions of $ to play a game for a living......or these coaches that make millions a year, absolutely suck at their job, and get paid millions to leave. It’s all ass backwards. It is what it is. But I guess when you’re running athletics at a major university, and paid well to do it.....yes you should be held to a high standard. Goes for the coach too.

ESPN contract is about 40 million a year.

Boosters.

Tickets and beer etc.

But with ESPN money now stadiums don't matter as much as they used to and 60k will still show up no matter what cause they enjoy the event and the ad knows it.

I just want competencies equivalent to the compensation. That’s all.
